Damn, you would think the amount of Aussie cars in these games would be a lot higher, you would think this country of ours would purchase a lot of there products.

Bring on aussie muscle cars!

Damn that really got me hyped up.

Knowing Gran Turismo, that'll put 200 Japanese cars in there with around 100 other cars- with 4 of them Australian.

I would of loved to see the XF Spac, EA spac and ED Xr6 in there against the Holdens of the time, aswell as comparing the Windsor Tickfords against the Clevelands.

just saved up enough money to buy the ferrari F1, great car but you can only race it in arcade mode, hint and tip for last set of races rather than buy the supercars and wind em back, buy the tuned Lotus 11r and the tuned V6 clio whip the weight out of them and wind up the kilowatts and then you can beat those corvettes and Fezza's

GT5 Prologue is a preview to the full game. theres like 40-60 cars (guess!) and bout 6 tracks, still a decent game. no idea when the final game will be released. Oh! and that poxy focus (XR5) actually hooks.... in a straight line, just dont try to turn corners

baa Grand turismo has been crap since gt2 i mean they still use the same physics engine it's an arcade claiming to be a racing simulator and you can barely customize cars Forza 2 is where its at now if only it had the visuals of GT5 the only thing GT5 has going for it at the moment

i played it at eb games the other day wasn't impressed (with anything but the graphics even the mustang don't sound like a v8 come on how hard is it to get a recording of it.) but i'll reserve judgment for the final game

I too have played the demo in JB Hifi, and while the graphics look great, I hated the feel of the car driving. Forza 2 is where its at, and by the time the full GT5 is out (late next year), Forza 3 will be there to compete with it.

I reckon they will have a few hidden surprise cars in there some where to unlock.

I loved playing the demo in the JB hifi store on their full HD tv. Just waiting for its release now so I can play it at home.

Does anyone know if they are still producing V8 supercars game?

Forza really is nobbled by Microsoft's myopic view of 3rd party peripherals. I skipped GT4 but am probably picking up a PS3 today and interested in seeing how well the G25 integrates with it in Prologue.

If Forza did support the G25, I doubt I'd even bother with GT5. It would appear the physics in Forza are more realistic and it supports damage. A driving game where you can plough into a wall at 300kph, bounce off and keep driving like nothing happened is very dissapointing.

Hey Rodp, make sure you download all the updates for the PS3. I reckon its worth doing as you get some good worthwhile features added that you may find useful.

the problem they were having with introducing damage to the cars was that a lot of the car brands didnt want their cars to have it, whilst some others didnt mind. unfortunately it would be a strange game if only some cars crashed whilst others didnt.

Apparantly the finished game is sposed to have the most cars the series has seen so far. will wait and see though. for now, its stealing cars and shooting defenceless bystanders in GTA IV!! bring on Monday/Tuesday!!!

Oh no there's always the penalty system! The two main probs with GT5P 1. Crappy AI (often run off track, useless at overtaking, too goddamn slow) 2. Inconsistent penalty system (as a result of some AI cars running off the track, they often fly back on, hitting you off, and then you get the 5 second collision penalty for it : ). However rumours are rife that GT5 may get some sort of damage - nice if the whole car could be smashed properly (unlike Forza), not sure how this would work with cockpit view (driver dying).....

I'm finding that the races within the classes are not consistent.

On B class at the moment and having to overtake the field in a Honda. All the other races I was winning with a 30+ second margin yet in this challenge it feels like I'm being blocked on every turn and it's impossible to battle my way through all the traffic in 1 lap to come close. I think the best place I got was 5th.

Haven't been arsed to get my wheel out yet, maybe I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

I prefer GT5's graphics over Forza but the driving and the damage model much better in Forza. GT's menus have always been slow and annoying too. But there's room for both games in my living room.

i was told GT5 is out later this year.. not next year... apparently october this year.. but then was also told to expect it to be pushed back a bit closer to xmas... releasing prologue 1 1/2 to 2 years ahead of the full game is just way too long...

Expect it to be delayed again and again like GT4 was. Probably.

Yeah the Penatly system is a bit screwed but i think they will fix that before the final game comes out. The prolouge is there to fix things like that.

Don't worry GT5 will have lots of auzzie cars.

I love my PS3!
