We live in Mt Barker in SA which is pretty cold. Gets into the negative figures at night and maybe 12ish during the day as its quite sunny. Losts of bad frosts though and the plants/lawn dont like it much.

My other half is from Geelong and he thinks it was still much colder there than here.

We are heading over to Vic this coming weekend... Hmmmm.

I am just glad we have a nice ducted reverse cycle system... nice and toasty warm here 24/7. And the BA has a good heater.

Here area a couple of photos of the last of the winter snow last year, as you can see, this particular fall didn't last long:

I've got some photos somewhere of our little fiesta bashing through snow drifts when we were in Scotland a few years back too.

Yeah it's cold at the moment - but would you prefer cold to heat?

I know I prefer this weather than the summer we just had in Sydney - 40 degrees plus some days, so hot the A/C can't keep up. You can always warm up (just chuck on more clothes), a lot harder to cool down.

I prefer heat. Fiji was 30c days, 20+c nights, and I miss it!! Someone send me to hell so I can warm up.

Yes, worst part about southern states is that it drops below 24C in the day after summer's over (and sometimes during!), heat is good! It is harder to keep cool than heat up, but I find it more comfortable to sit in heat than cold
