I love the Canters, but the 2012 model looks like it might be a step back. Gone soft like the Hinos.

The 2010-2011 6speed auto is fantastic, proper torque converter trans and it flys.
But 2012 model gets a dual clutch automated manual, hopefully its a alot better than other automated manuals that ive driven in commercial vehicles.

2012 engine has 110kw and only 370Nm, current engine has 110kw and 470Nm. 100nm torque loss is huge.

Brakes will only be single caliper front, and smaller wheels and tyres. But the tare weigh is around 300kg lighter

We have a 2005ish Isuzu NPR 200 or something, little beast has never had a drama. We did have an NPR300 a couple of years ago, I bet this Hino is suffering the same problem as it had for a short while, the clutch rod/lever/arm or what ever they have ad a slight bend in it. When you jabbed the pedal into the floor the clutch wasnt quite engaging all the way and would crunch between shifts... 18L/100k's isnt bad at all... My truck gets about 47L/100k's but it is a 550hp 42.5 tonne (loaded) Cat powered Kenworth!

I reckon 18L/100k's isn't all that bad unless its running around unloaded all day.And Nudge your 47L/100k's isn't as bad as what i get , 90L/100k's i also have a 550 cat KW but at around 100-115 tonnes loaded.

I drove the new Auto one and didn't like it at all. But then again I have never liked Autos. Geez the salesman was telling me the new one's had more power. Fancy that eh, a salesman telling a furthy..........
