Marcosambrose, it seems it is just that - your opinion!
The current model FPV GT-P is a great example of what manufacturers can do here for a upmarket family sedan. I don't know if you have driven one, but I feel like Marcos Ambrose every time I get in the thing. A real head turner and constant compliments about how the car looks. Perhaps you might want to reserarch how many appreciate these B4 you accuse them of bad taste. Proud FG FPV GT-P owner. Marko

The E2 has some tacky parts on it but FPV isn't immune either. Both have horrid vehicles in their stable.

I suppose this is the direction of car design now. Ill never like Holdens of any sort. Their design does not appeal to me, and im yet to be proven wrong (by Holden in changing my opinion) with the E2.
If FPV deleted the racoon eyes, and put something better in its place (to maintain differentiation from the XRs) id say it would look the goods. Just my 2c, not like i could ever afford something like these anyway. |

I like my cars somewhat understated and I think the modern performance cars try to hard. Maybe the answer is simply a G6ET or even a G8E for guys like me with vanilla taste buds... |

The black does suit it. But in any other colour they look way to busy! It's like the designers didn't know when to stop.
...those wheels : : :

Saw a red GTS just half an hour ago, first VE2 I've seen on the road. The black apron on the front is terrible. I don't have any ideas what they were going for when they designed it. Also, the shape of the front bar is very mismatched to the big box shape of the cabin and plain doors.
I just cannot see how it might look cool or tough. The mechanical side of the car, however, is a completely different story. I'd love to drive one and see what it's like.

We were saying exactly the same thing about the FG FPV at a similar time after its release. Brace yourself, you will see a lot more out there. Personally I actually like the new E2, will not buy one for a number of reasons (not because I am one eyed for Ford), but I like them. At least they give the GTS some real performance enhancements over the R8, not like FPV. The interior is still very plain though and at the end of the day it is a kitted up commodore with some extra go fast bits that will depreciate horribly, just like FPV.

I'm sorry but I am embarrassed to even look at it, it is supposed to show what Aussie builders can do here, the pic gives the appearance that the front bar is not the right one for is. This car does not gel. |

I guess the E2 is a daring design, it might not have paid off IMO, but kudos for trying something different. Im not brand biased and pretty much have liked every HSV up until this one.

Im actually a big fan of the E1 HSV's Especially in red with optional 20's. The E2's arent nice in my opinion and look like a cheap autosalon special. The wheels look like they are 1990's grey jap import specials. I dont like ANY part of it at all. FPV is very subtle and im yet to see a genuine one i dont like. They need fatter rear rubber though.

I like a fair few Jap imports, so you can probably see the reason behind me liking the sort of "overdone" front on the thing, I'm not too fancy on the rear, but the front is pretty nice. At least its a better effort than the FPV's black plastic near the headlights!

I never liked the E2 when i saw the pics, but in the flesh its certainly a hot looking car. Much better than the new FG FPV's. From what I've noticed the FG's look very base model like.

Threads just to bag out the opposition are getting a bit boring .... especially when the E2 "Like it, don't like it'' threads have been done to death. Time to get over it and wait till July to see what the Blue team come up with.
