I said I read somewhere, there's that article and others "speculating" the same thing.
Besides everything on the new Bronco is speculation. starting with the artist impressions.

Could they actually be building this concept from 2004, or is that's just what's under the cover

It’ll be a lot better looking than that, think Wrangler with a Ford twist and Ford DNA like Explorer.

Been a while since I started this particular thread - those are all pretty exciting teasers!

If it arrives in 2 doors, very interested! Petrol motor / torque converter auto would ice the cake

Go Ford Oz engineers!

It really does. Was stopped behind one in traffic the other day and it just looked tacky. Reminded me of South Korean cars in the mid 90s.

Ecosport looks like a Chinese SUV. It reminds me of a Chery J11

Funny how Ford doesn't even know what it's called. Jump between eco sport and echo sport all the time.

I hope the Bronco will look more tough than that.

According to a tweet by Mike Levine (Ford North America Product Communications manager)
"Ford never said it would be 4-door only"

This was a reply to someone trying to figure out how the Bronco in the teaser (which appears to have a short wheelbase) can have 4-doors.

"Unfortunately, we've also heard that Ford isn't planning on building a two-door Bronco. Much as we'd like to see this throwback to the original, it's likely far too niche for Ford."

All the talk I have seen on US websites says it will be 4 door only. But that tweet above only confirms that Ford have not confirmed it. Doesn't necessarily mean that a 2 door will be available. It will be interesting to see what it turns out to be though.

The articles about this talk about the Bronco, and also a smaller capable 4wd. Not much in the way of details, and whatever was under the curtain was just a mock up.

Quote:
Ford also plans to drive growth with two all-new off-road models: the new Bronco and a yet-to-be-named off-road small utility – both designed to win a growing number of people who love getting away and spending time outdoors with their families and friends.
While it says utility, the shadowy shape in the image is not a ute, so that will likely be a small off road capable SUV.

I think in Seppoland they call a utility an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle)

It's like they don't even know what a ute is. :(

Still, I'm more partial to a wagon than a ute style, so it's good to see. Hopefully both vehicles make it to Australia. We need something more than 4wd utes and 4wd utes that have been modified into wagons.

Surely if it makes a return it has to be two door and a V8.

Otherwise it's just not a Bronco...

Car companies need to be very careful about trashing revered names. Just ask Holden.
