About 36 hours most weeks. Base pay is 42 hours a week + allowances.
If I work more than 42 hours a week I go onto overtime rate. Good job is good. |

I'm on salary... but they gave me a work phone... NEVER accept the work phone! It's not a worthwhile perk.

Salaried for 38, but generally do 50 - 60, 5 day weeks. I was maxing out at ~75 about a month ago. I feel like I haven't done enough if I get out of there in under 12. It makes me sigh when I hear the other people in the office whinge about being on a salary for 38, but having to work 40 every week.
I'm a production planner / dispatch coordinator.

Recently started a new company so hours are all over the place, I have 2 offices - one at home and the other is my Wife's Falcon. ( she'll be happy to get it back shortly!!!)
Prior to this I was an Area Manager for Woolworth's Hardware division. Spent 7 1/2 years there, salaried for 40hrs however worked 60 a lot of the time, plus many nights away etc. A real positive with the career change is: I no longer have to drive a Commodore!!!! I can pick my own vehicle this time |

Usually about 37hrs give or take a few depending on what work needs to be done.
I used to do many 12+hr days so I appreciate the shorter hours these days. |

salaried GM - approx 60-65hrs/wk (5 days) + 2.5hrs travel each day.
It sucks when you leave before the kids are up, and get home after they're in bed.

The difference on a salary is that the extra you put in gets noticed by other people, and the pay rise (position advancement) more than justifies the extra hours in most cases.

WOW, you people doing huge hours do realise that you only live every day once and that when you die you can't take it with you???
I try to not work more than 3-4 days per week (only working two this week), take the kids to the pool or park, enjoy a day out with the missus while kids are at school, work on my cars, train in my gym, go for a swim, go fishing, go hunting etc etc. Life is for living and not spending every waking hour at work, you just need a job where you earn enough and then adjust your lifestyle. I just had the last few days off, working tomorrow and the next day for the first time this week, then having Friday off to spend with the missus going shopping and out for breakfast and lunch, work on my car the week end and then work a couple of days early next week...that will do me.....I feel sorry for you people doing any more than 40hrs a week. This is why our employers love it when we get in debt as they then have us over a barrel, as we have to slave away to afford the lifestyle we really can't afford.
