Default Re: Tyres - yes here's that question again.

Bob Jane fitted up a set of Altenzo Sports Comforter 235/40r18 97W XL - a Pirelli P Zero copy 'developed' in Aus and made by PDW group - when I swapped out the OE 17" rims for a set of 18"s.

Only done 1.5k so far on them so still scuffing in; so far are smooth, quiet and grippy dry - seem a little short on wet grip though but his might improve as they settle. They definately have more grip both dry and wet than the OE Goodyear Efficientgrip; somewhat surpirsingly smoother ride and quieter too given the change from 215/50R17 95W XL. Car is MC Zetec Ecoboost Powershift Hatch.

And for the last two very wet weeks I've been tippy-toeing around on my Continentals, to avoid aquaplaning. The Aussie rain must be wetter (or thicker?) than Euro rain because it doesn't drain as well with these tyres in the Land of Oz.......

Have been quoted $1070 for a set (4) of Goodyear 235/40/R18 95Y F1 Asymetric 2's, including balancing plus a wheel alignment.
Is this good value?
Feedback much appreciated.
No personal experience, but they are cleaning up all of the tyre tests in Europe. So it's probably good value if you want the best.

If you want to know what works on very wet roads, search the Malaysian forums. And these guys drive their cars hard rain or shine - not sure that I'd want to drive at 150 in typical Malaysian rain to see if a tyre aquaplanes!
