I was thinking the same thing, but i believe the GT was playing possum and waiting for his flyby, i reckon that's a 10 second car.
The Rex was not embarrassed at all, it went well on the track.

From the looks of things, the WRX had it for the first 200 metres or so then the GT flew past him like a bullet.

I know the video doesnt prove alot, but I always barrack V8s when they run Turbo 4s.

Not saying V8s are better or anything, but thats how its always been.

i drive and love my ford

but in reality put them both on a dirt track and see which one wins then

as the old saying goes horses for cources in other words a four wheel drive car is best suited to a dirt track taking the cars to look at

Of course the WRX would win, because thats what their really designed for, rallying.

All cars have strengths and weaknesses and some cars feel more at home on a particular surface, then others.

nice vid, guy doing a few laps in the rex at the start can't drive for cripe though.

It struck me as a bit stupid testing a supercar against a $60,000 sedan, until I read it was just 2 people with fast cars going for a drive.

Obvious outcome (: I'm still a fan of the Turbo 4's despite a fair number of people hating them :p

Great vid with a great sound track....what happened in the drag, did the driver of the GT miss a gear change or something? With more than 600rwhp he should have smoked him straight after the 60" mark

If you look close I think the GT had some nasty wheelspin.

Does the caption at the start of the drag section say 13.2 @ 103 mph WRX v modifed frod GT???

Honestly, what is the point of posts like that ? we ALL know it, the thread is about how well the GT goes, not how it beats the Rex, it just happened to be there to film it............ :
Maybe i could have worded the title better.

Bah, the GT runs rings around the F50 in the street cred department. Not only is the GT a realistic car to dream about, I’m pretty sure it can be registered in Australia as well. :

Cheers, Danny

Private imports just like the Mustangs/F150 Lightnings, private companies bring them in get them converted to right hand drive & then sell them on.

This is the first GT I've seen though.

Why do people say stuff like this?! Maybe they should both be taken to Le Mans in that case....

The GT is an incredible machine, I'm yet to read/watch a bad review about one. It's definitely one of my dream cars and what I think is one of the best cars ever made.

Coincidence???.....probably not.

With 600+ rwhp, not much is going to stand up to it!!!!

BTW, those STi's are still fairly quick little units.
THe GT made 6oorwhp with the standard blower, it had a sct tune and a pulley upgrade and full zorst. It now has a TT kit and is making 1o16rwhp.
