Ok Ill agree then, the Kia has a pretty impressive powerband, and can rev to 6000

Clutching at straws, diesel Silverado 2500 is hardly comparable to any of the run of the mill dualcabs on size or price.
Its a light duty truck.

I always heard power wins bragging rights, torque wins races

I checked around 70 Silverados were sold last month, not sure how many were diesel.

These 6.5m long things cost $180K? they really are a different category

Agreed, the only time youd consider a Hyundai dual cab and Silverado 2500 in the same league is if someone said the Hyundai with 205kw was class leading and it annoyed you..

I should point out to those anti Korean, that next next gen Ranger/Amarok will be built in South Africa.

It might solve the ute - Truck argument as we will have to call them 'bakkies'

Edit: actually read that our supply will continue from Thailand, but fun comment

I read that Australia was still getting them from Thailand.....

Here it is.....

https://www.whichcar.com.au/car-news...n-south-africa

Quote:
While the Ford plant’s focus will be on its own Ranger, the factory will also manufacture the next-generation Volkswagen Amarok.

Ford says the Silverton manufacturing plant will export vehicles to over 100 global markets, though Australia will not be one of those.

A spokesperson for Ford Australia told WhichCar that our local Ranger supply will continue from the Ford Thailand Manufacturing plant in Rayong, Thailand.

Along with its Everest sibling, the Ranger currently comprises more than 70 per cent of Ford's model mix here in Australia.
........just seen your edit....

It's been built in South Africa from the start of T6. And Argentina. It's not a new thing. SA supplies africa and europe, argentina supplies south america and mexico, thailand supplies asean, and detroit supplies north america.

Bet the poor bas****d with the overloaded overturned caravan on the freeway this morning wish he was towing with one.
Ford Everest and large caravan both on their sides total write offs.
