The first Porches were basically hotted up VW's anyway, so whats the difference. 356's even used Beetle engines.

Obviously what I said was tongue in cheek, but its not too far removed from the truth, as Porsche has their origins from the Beetle. Even Clarkson aludes to that when they test 911's.

What has me worried is why you typed a search for 'VW Beetle' in the first place! :P

I have never questioned the historical link between VW and Porche, or have the slightest problem with VW Beetles or Porches as such. I do have a real problem understanding why someone would try to pretend there Beetle was a Porche by whacking fibreglass panels all over it. It doesn't fool me, and i'm pretty sure most other people.

Its just that i have a pretty much destroyed VW buggy i need to scrap, and was wondering if it was worth saving any little bits like trims.

Re: Karman Ghia camber, that things in the US with some serious Airbag setup underneath. As suggested, wthe the switches are flicked, it goes back to normal ride height and tyre angle. Airbagged VW all seem to have odd rear tyre angles, due to the rear axle/suspension configuration
