Here is a pic of the '82 GA Meteor Ghia I have inheretied as my everyday car whilst the Focus stays away from shopping centre carparks. Was previously my mum's car and also the car I learned to drive in. Has been off the road for 2 years now getting the head gasket replaced and a few other small issues fixed.

hey guys, anyone know of a 1.8 SOHC or DOHC in brisbane cheap? just need something to get this car going... someone didnt spray the block while i was on holidays and its rusted the bottom end so im ditching it

bought another laser today. many people dont know much about them but its a genuine white lightning, converted from factory carby turbo to a B6T including B6T box and CV's. im unsure on the brakes if they got upgraded but its all complienced in QLD saving me alot of issues. it has a suspect blown turbo so got it real cheap.
    she is a bit of a mess at the moment, but it will arrive home tomorrow and ill get stuck into her. give her a clean, neaten the wiring and get started on finding out whats causing the smoke. i also didnt get the rims which is ok as i dont really like the simmons.

I've got an 88 KE GL hatch. Picked it up for $380 with rego left on it.
I plan to make it a hill climb car. So far I've lowered in on superlow king and installed a ghia interior. I'll get some photos up if anyone cares to see it. |

Just found this thread.
Have a red over grey KE TX3 turbo - see sig. No pics as car was once a show-er but has been let go by previous owner and needs a bit of a resto. Planning to be a retirement project - maybe. Just a daily for now - so much fun! BTW - Air cond compressor just karked it. Anyone have a working one FS? .

I own a KF GL 1.6 auto bought it the beginning of this year from a guys yard sitting for 2 years, It only needed was fuilds and filters changed and a major fuse re-done and a battery and started right up done 366XXX kms and just on the finishing stages of getting it ready for rego.
I am looking for a spare 1.6 NA or 1.6 turbo. Will post a picture in the morning. |

cant go 1.6 dohc/efi or turbo in the kf model. must be the 1.8 bp or bpt motor

Wouldn't mind a nice clean KF again ... Mum used to have a KF GHIA 5-speed manual in Rich Plum ... had it for about 14 years from new .... ended up with full whiteline suspension kit through it ... and she changed to 14" alloys from the hubcaps.
I have pics of it somewhere .... i think .... was a clean car .... and great to drive as well .... only issue it had was an ignition module failed .... that was all. Miss that car

i dont think the carby intakes fit the EFI motors. you are better off doing the full conversion or leave it as it.
the carby do get pretty awesome fuel economy, most times more then the EFI models (well in the KC/KE models they do and they share the carby and very close motors)

ok well I will be looking for a 'new' motor soon I might just got for a 1.6 as I want a spare just in case my current motor goes. Also can you put a 1.6 DOHC on a SOHC engine block

Well I had an accident in the garage today with the laser hitting a fridge and It will be up for sale within the next couple days it is a 1.6 kf sedan white great body and great tight engine and auto gearbox, the only damage is to the front bumper,grille and a ding in the rad support and also the drivers door, the rest of the body is unmarked and is ready for repair or to use as a parts car.

I have had several lasers,, my first was a new 85kb,,then a 85kb turbo ,,another 85kb.,,96kj ,then an clipsal500 sr2 [ bowe 888 ] and my daughter has 86 tx3,, they just keep on running.

First time poster ....My lil Car, 86 TX3i, been in hibernation since 04, stripped and repainted, cut down on trims etc etc , put everything back together, just installing sounds atm. needs its final Cut and Polish then back on the road...

my new one to the stable... close enough to a laser, 82 323 EFI turbo. 32lb injectors, microtech ECU, T25 turbo, full 3" exhaust
currently getting a new build motor, oversized hypersomething pistons, shot peened rods, ported head, cam etc. should be seeing well over 150kw at the treads

Pretty impressed with the 2001 laser I bought recently! One owner, properly serviced, very clean, runs well, 175000kms
Can anyone tell me how many seats the seatbelt sensors sense for? My seatbelt light is on all the time (recent issue) (the beeping noises confuse me, doors or belts? different length beeps if door closed than open) I can see a wired connection just under the drivers seat and didn't try too hard to pull it out. Is this the sensor and do I need to pull the carpet up? Oh well, in the meantime I will continue searching the forums many threads for answers but thanks if you can help me. I had a 1982 KA Laser Ghia as my first car. Loved it when it worked, and still miss it.
