If you like Doom, you gotta like Duke Nukem 3D, ID Created FPS with Wolfenstein and Doom, 3D Realms refined it with DN3D!

I quite like Oblivion, I have it on PS3 but I have great difficulty with it.

Hehe, me too, infact I still have the original CDs from when I first got it. Duke Nukem 3D and the Atomic Edition. The first Australian release (3D) was censored, but the Atomic Edition isn't.

Yes! Red Alert! I remember playing this in about 1999? 2000? With the old dial up modem that used to drop out just as I was about to crush my mates with a tank rush!

I actually played Diablo II last year for the 1st time! Sort of got bored of it quick.

I discovered it after most of the others I listed there, hence probably didn't have the same impact as it might have, had I discovered it firstly, I suppose.

I didn't even see this last night, but it's funny you ask that, lol, because I started playing it again, after a year or so of not playing computer games at all. The last decent game ever released, IMO.

I've been looking for a Red Alert download link for ages now. Thanks for that.
I spent many hours playing C&C and RA, and my then-girlfriend (now my wife) was into Diablo and Descent.
We both got into Star Control and SC2 - lots of good memories with those games.

Back in 2000-2001 I worked at an ISP. Many nights several of us (along with the graveyard shift tech support guys) would play CounterStrike for hours on the company LAN. The boss never did find out. Good times.

I bought the original from an Op-Shop about a year ago (though my brother acquired the game back when it first came out) and growing up, I just loved his smart-**** lines...

I remember being stuck (and giving up) on the 3rd disc of ZORK NEMESIS for months!
I think it was one of Activisions first?... geesh, It'd have to be 11 or 12yrs ago?
Was quite eerie in it's day.

Haha, its not so bad now but the main hacks people use are map reveal, which is annoying because it takes all the fun out of it, looking around killing everything in your path and finding some good stuff along the way. I don't play online, what I do is create a single player account, then use a program called "Hamachi" which you join someones network, when you go to the LAN game menu, you can enter other peoples games who are in the same network, so its like playing over the internet. Theres another program called "Tunngle" which I use for Red Alert but theres some problems with port forwarding, turning off that bastard windows firewall etc.

Haha, thats my tactic too, ye olde tank rush. Build like 50 War Factories and pump out tanks like anything, they build as fast as infantry once you've got heaps of war facs.

Yeah, Diablo II is pretty good, I have the expansion too.

If anyone is interested in getting some Red Alert matches going against each other, I can make up a little tutorial how to get Tunngle and Red Alert working, Tunngle also works for other games like Diablo II etc. You can have up t0 8 players in one game in Red Alert, which would be pretty crazy, there'd be non stop fighting.

As long as we all use the same version, FullRA+ we shouldn't have compatability issues.

Nah, Activision have been around for a long time...they made games like Death Track and Ghostbusters 2, which I played in the early 90s...

Wikipedia states they were founded in 1979....

Yep, and possibly the Commodore 64 and Amiga too...

Had a Commodore 64 but we sold it 1990/91 after we got the 286...

Wizball on the C64...great game.

Ah yes, the good old days.
I started with a Com 64, then a 386 DX2 66... what a powerful bit of gear it was in those days, cost about $4000 from memory.

I remember going out and buying Co-ax network cards the week Doom 2 was release on sale; buying the game and spending the weekend trying to sort out why we could get the network working.... (damn those 'T' pieces!!!!)

Doom, Doom 2, Duke Nuke, Hexen, Rise of the Triad, C&C, Microprose GP - you name it, we played it.

Never got in to Red Alert or Quake.... I think we'd played enough and had lost interest.

Police Quest: SWAT II by Sierra is a fun little game, I used to play that heaps when I was little. This is a bit of a RTS style game. The thing that annoyed me with that was the crappy unresponsive controls, which lead to you shooting downed criminals and executing them by accident, and having your good swat officer suspended when you really need them. Or finding a suspect with his gun down, changing to the microphone to get him to give himself up, then when he raises the gun to shoot, you have to switch back to firearm and get the first shot off, which never happened and your officers are the one who are leaving the scene in the bodybag.

Talking about tactical shooters, anyone here like Ghost Recon, SWAT 3/4 and Rainbow 6?

Used to LOVE total Annihilation. Was awesome just creating massive squadrons of fighter planes and completely destroying EVERYTHING in their path. Basicly just create the planes and then point and destroy and watch the results lol

Played RA 1 a fair amount, as well as AOE 1,2 and 3 a fair bit. Didn't fancy RA2 or 3, i switched to FPS and RPG games in stead and mostly on console. I swapped back to PC for FEAR 1/2 and WoW but now i'm onto the PS3 again.

about 3-5 years ago ea brought out the C&C the first decacde. had all of the games playable on XP. fantastic!
C&C 95 (the original) was the greatest out of them all. Generals was not too bad, first of the "real heavy graphics". tiberain sun had the best skirmish mode and the best weapons i believe.

Anyone here a fan of Road Rash 64? Its 11 years old now but its still great fun, it was on the Nintendo 64, you chose a type of bike and street raced against 15 or so other riders, except you could punch and kick each other, use bats, pool cues, nunchuks, tasers etc to beat the crap out of other riders and the cops chasing you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3RSzyue2cE

Theres the intro sequences for it.

Road Rash was on many of the consoles. The best version was the original format on PSX and PC. I finished it on PC...great fun.

I also have Road Rash 3 on Sega Mega Drive.
