Note that Smoked did say "...those of us who dont know just wait and see..." I dont think he was having a go at people who have gone as far as test driving one |

On top of that, dont ruin/spoil it for us. Also, my comments were aimed at those who arent in the know, which going by your comments is a category you dont fall into.

Just to clear it up though, i am not contracted to Ford, so in no danger of losing my job. Sometimes it does feel like i am right in there though. I will say what i can but obviously in a way to protect those that are infact in danger of losing their jobs. |

I'm happy for you to give us some inside info and 'ruin/spoil' it for us JEM. If someone doesn't want to know details about the Orion then I don't think they should read any threads regarding it.

I hope it doesn't end up like the Iosis. I'm driving a Mitsubishi 380 hire car at the moment & I don't like the general body proportions. The base of the windscreen is so far forward that when you come up to bends in the hills you have to constantly move your head to swap between looking through the windscreen and side window to see the road. The side windows rise dramatically, so if you are parked on a heavily cambered road you can't see well to back out. The boot lid is very short in the horizontal dimension, which makes it harder to load luggage. It might look sleek and aerodynamic but its just not practical.

Lincoln MKS....Just to give you an idea of how a large car can have Iosis inspired styling...could Orion have some of these elements? Last edited by Dr Smith; 24-08-2006 at 04:09 PM. |

I reckon it could be a pretty obvious hint that with the subtle changes to BFII, these will flow on to Orion. Things such as the multiple-bar grill and the lights shape is getting us ready for the new shape. I dont think it will be as radical or shaped as the Iosis, probably more square and larger but retaining the common look of it styling wise
Holden did it very well with VY with the tail lights and front end treatment, now that style is what they had planned for VE years ago and we are all used to it |

I really hope Orion isnt conservative. There's more than enough dull cars out there, I want something that is tasteful but also stands out.
The XR had better look ready to kill its occupants too. That said, how can we get our names on the books at Ford to view prototypes, that would be great to have a say in the future of the car. |

Apparently Orion does have some cues from the Lincoln pictured in this thread, but nothing really like Iosis. |

They should really scrap the carry-over AU doors for the BF2... I know this would be very expensive and impractical but in my opinion the one weakness of the BA-BF styling was the ugly AU doors!

As for orion, I cant wait. Does anyone think that Ford should get a concept down here to get some media hype up? Whens the Sydney show again? There has been to much of this VE business. Just bring something down here that might have some styling cues. Ive been lucky enough to see some Orion pics, but whether they are still planned is another thing, plans change. All I can say is that people should start saving for the higher end models! :sm_headba : :sm_drool: Its going be an interesting time for local manufacturers over the next 3-5 years, very pivitol. Some good products, but will consumers still want them?

I think Sydney has to be spent convincing people BF2 does enough to be competitive against the VE.
