Well its still listed as reserve met and its upto 19K, looks like its sold, now its just a matter of for how much.
What i cant work out is why people keep bidding on it, all that does is drive the price up, if i was serious about buying it id wait till 1 min to go before i placed any bids.

100% agree with XA coupe that smelling of a rat.
Unless its a company car leased scheme car. Any person that buys that type of car would have the net connected & surfed or read car mags & have some idea of the real value of the car.

Decent buy ! i have a reasonable scam radar and i reckon this looks fairly legit -even his ID has TS50 in it , which is what you might expect with an enthuiest ,all the numbers are there ,build plaque + IIRC blueprint wasn't available in the AU series on much else .Thing is what do you think a dealer would have offered as a trade in ???Sadly not much more if at all methinks .

One of the neighbours got $18,500 trade on a low milage XR8 AU s2 ute on a new Nissan pulsar ST. That TS50 S3 would have to bring mid to high 20's as a trade in.

I bid on it up to just short of $17K, and was trying to bid on it after that with 1/2 hour to go, but ebay was down. I wonder if that had something to do with the price ending up so low? Bidders just couldn't get on to bid!?

The current book prices are for a TS S3 with 63,000ks is.
Private sale 32,310-39,490
Trade in v 30,300-35,900
Dealer price 42,200-50,640
I think the people that write the value guides need to be more up to date.
I suppose with BA turbo's in the low 30,000 bracket the values are dropping fast on any performance AU.

buickman

A early roadster MG is probley the best at holding value.

Id sugest these prices are allot closer although probably even a bit high judging by what we are seeing.
Resale value on Falcons is very dissapointing, ive got a 2001 220KW AUII XR8 "with the lot", 70k's and in immac condition and i can't move it for 20K, not even 1 call.

You see manual ones on carsales going for low 30s sometimes, auto + fugly wheels and high petrol prices might have effected the price.

drive .com Value your car.

I paid over $30,000 for my AU1 ghia with just under 3,000ks in 2000 as a demo.
Lucky if I could get $12,000 now with 91,000kms

The trade in and resale price guides are completely useless. According to drive I can buy a gtho phase three for $36-44k with average km's travelled. I should email them and ask them to point me in the direction of one that is for sale at that price.

Well I guess it didn't sell after all. Back on eBay, this time at a buy it now price of $34'500.

Also, interestingly I saw this EXACT car (same side on photo, same wheels, background, ect..) for sale in Auto Supermarket magazine of last week. It was for sale.. wait for it, for $8000 and in WA!! :togo: It wasn't a small ad either, about 4 inch by 3 inch colour ad.

Now's your chance JC! Go for it mate.. :dr_Evil:

it didnt sell because the reserve price was sposed to be $30000 as stated on the last page. the guy stuffed the ad up and couldnt change it as someone had already bid on it.

Just sent to tool a scathing email about ripping off data from aufalcon.com
Quote:
Next time you want to RIP OFF entire paragraphs of writing and images of engine build plates from a website... I suggest you contact the owner of that website first.
Yes, you did it. I OWN the friggen website www.aufalcon.com and your TE50 sale contained a complete rip off of the handbuilt article written specifically for my site by a member. Hell, you even left the blue background on the image of the build plate.

For the record, the section you ripped off from my site was primarily to do with the 220kw motor, not the 250kw 5.6l motor in the T3 you supposedly have for sale.
I have a good mind to report his to Ebay as potential fraud.
