It's always sad to hear of friends passing away but when its one of our own members, it almost feels worse.

My thoughts are with MO's family.

Sad time indeed.

I’ve only just come across this and it’s really sad news. I always thought highly of John as he had plenty of wisdom and was a decent down to earth bloke. From memory, he’d spent many years in the QLD fire service and retired.

John originally used his real name then changed it to MO quite a few years back and I’m sure that he was on the old forum as well.

Like most people here, I’d never met him but shared many PMs over the years.

I only have one picture of John and must apologise for the size. There was a thread about six years ago where many of us posted pictures of ourselves. John’s pic was quite large and I resized it, along with a picture of “Pinky” the promoter and had a laugh that they’d never been seen at the same place together.

I genuinely believe that the forum is only as good as the people who contribute and John was one of those people who made the forum a great place.

RIP John, you will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Heather and all of John’s extended family.

Well I don't post on to AFF as much as I used to but stop by from time to time for a bit of a read and catch up.

I couldn't go past this thread without stopping to pay my condolences.

It’s funny how on the forums you tend to remember some people’s usernames or avatars more than others and make a point of reading their posts due to having a genuine interest in their opinions. John was one of those people for me. If I was skimming through a thread and saw his "delightful" avatar with the nurse and syringe I always took the time to stop skimming and read his reply.

Rest in Peace John - I hope that your family take comfort from the fact that you will be remembered as a good bloke, a real personality with incredible wit and humour.

Txx

Actually not such a bad idea although many of the cars and drivers are long gone.

Thought MO was cruising in his Burgandy AU XLS ute, V8 iirc?

I remember a NA/NC Fairlane blowing a bit of oil and MO's ute got covered in some of it and he wasn't overly impressed, can't remember what he said but had a few in stitches.

Are you sure? No houses or those sort of trees at Sexi Coffee

I think it is in the back car park at the Boat Harbour and was either the last or second last time I spoke with MO. He did get a bit annoyed at a couple of the younger people there.
