They quoted me $3500/year for insurance and didn't give me my $100 when I went with JCI who was about $1800 cheaper. The problem with the Ranger is its quite expensive, just that little bit more to make the alternatives worth looking at, 2 people I know so far have gone with Colorado as they got a much better deal, both of them did look at the Ranger too and liked it, but too much $$$ for what you get. 1) You do all your research and settle on a non Ford product. 2) You test drive the opposition and you are ready to buy. 3) Go over to Ford, test drive their car and then sheepishly ask about '$200 that you heard from somewhere'. 4) Go back to original car you drove and buy it. 5) Send in receipt to Ford with info of where you test drove their product and $200 Visa debit card gets sent out. Yes, it may work for some people but after working in retail for 10 years and seeing all the stuff people did to bend / abuse the rules nothing surprises me! Not a bad way to earn $200 for an hrs work driving a car that isn't yours... if your that sort of person...

Ford state they will give $200 if you purchase a competitor, but will give you a $500 "Bonus" (Discount) if you by a Ford, so you if you are going to purchase, you win either way.

So if I read this right, the only way to prove to ford that you bought another car is provide a copy of the signed contract of sale. This will provide the pricing breakdown. In 1 promo, ford will have the pricing data from a whole stack of potential customers who went and bought another brand. GENIOUS!

I drove a 4x4 dual cab hilux many times at work. So not just a quick 10 minute test drive at the local Toyota dealer. I'm more than happy to pay $6000 more for a Ranger. Hell I'd pay $16,000 more (if they dropped the Hilux's RRP) Im not saying that because I'm a one eyed Ford fan considering this is the first Ford I have owned. It's just a much better vehicle. My mate who thinks his 07 Single cab workmate Hilux is God's gift to the world is even talking about getting a different brand when he gets his 4x4 dualcab. Even he has gone off the Hilux idea which surprised me. |

"Who says biggest selling is always best"
So what happens when the ranger or the focus is the biggest selling in the segment, by Fords own admission in its ads , does that mean it isn't the best anymore.... Nice "saleswoman" in the ad , very very nice actually but stupid slogan. |
