He sold his Ford GT to get his Lambo Gallardo (sp?) spider just recently (well, within the last few months anyway. Therefore it has moved up the cool wall where it belongs

I actually prefer the HSV's styling over the M5. There is a dark blue GTS down the road from my place and it always slows me down when i drive past |

Only person i've ever seen driving it is a woman that doesn't look much older than me, she would only be in her late 20's. That stings a bit |

That's not a bad review by someone who's Eurocentric. Personally I don't care much whether or not it's good on a test track made for more compact cars, it's a cruiser and he was clearly happy with that aspect. It would be nice to see some Ford Falcon ingenuity exported to the poms, but it isn't going to forceeably happen.
I would suspect there was a bit of anti US sentiment there too, seeing as the VE SS is being rebadged as the 2008 Pontiac G8 GT. |

mate that was a great video . that thing kicked rrrrrsss. went well sounded great and looked great . it went hard and trumped the competition. you dont see FORDS pushed to the limit like that , but plenty of HSV.s.

Yes I own an XR8 but have to say I give credit to the VXR8. Goes to show when it comes to cut price V8 muscle car saloons, Aussie's are the best in the business. Which is why my money is on a locally built V8 rear drive saloon.
Love the comment of Kyoto protocol. These cars are soo cool since they standout like dogs balls in a politically correct, hybrid, eco mentalist and rocket on a dressing of Juc world. Ford or Holden, long live the Aussie made rear drive, tyre smoking V8 saloon.

I agree with Clarkson about the looks of the VXR8 (HSV). The tail of the car still hasnt grown on me. |

I liked the review, any Aussie car reviewed is an Aussie car regardless of badge. Good to see they enjoy it too!

The only thing the GTS misses is the titanium conrods and extra litre of capacity that the LS7 brings. Once HSV have the "GTS-R" on the market, it will be hard for BMW/Mercedes/Audi to match it pound for pound in the "performance saloon" category Ford will be wallowing in the wake WAKE UP FORD! I remember when he was comparing a Ferrari 550M with an Aston Martin Vanquish S and he said the Ferrari was the better car all round but then he'd twist it and say the Aston is like the British underdog or something and try to make it seem like the better choice. : The Brit's have great ingenuity but they don't have good business sense to survive in today's marketplace...look at TVR, the Brits couldn't manage it (just like they couldn't manage MG), so they sold it to some Russian millionaire, who then promptly drove the company into the ground!...a real shame as those TVR's where road rockets and some of them looked great. Face it Clarkson, the British car industry died a looong time ago...
