Citroen has never had big volumes in this country from way back, but they still keep soldiering on.They won’t leave anyhow.

They should. How can they make any money on selling 8 cars?

There seems to be more dealerships than cars sold too,

though they seem to be shared dealerships

Yes, there are not many around. In our city there is only one.A lot are with a multi franchise operation, otherwise they would go under.Still a passionate following out there with the marque.

Citroen is under the Stellantis brand, so as long as they're making RHD and sharing showrooms etc, the overhead of the company is likely being overseen by a company that looks after them an Peugeot at least.

I don't believe they share corporate with Jeep at this point yet though.

Seems to be the case looking at the Brisbane Ford dealers.

New Ranger 4x2 sales are up circa 100% on the previous model numbers, two months in a row now.

We bought ours in 2021 for $36 d/a with premium paint. Covid tax etc now sees them $40k+. They are a great car and well specced but that's some serious coin. Most manufacturers have seen the same price creep though. I just think 100-200/month is about where they are. Perhaps with the increase in popularity with ranger and Everest it might eventually drag some of the other models up, with the increased traffic through the dealers.

I'm really surprised by this. Prado had been number 1 for years and years, and it finally gets knocked off and crickets. And it wasn't just a one off, it's been 2 months in a row now. Are the journos too afraid to report Toyota's losses?
With the Journos it is all about the Advertising $$$.....
Toyota are the big spenders don't bite the hand that feeds you.

The articles rarely mention this.
Remind us how many FGX Falcons were made? I'll give you a hint, the entire FGX from 2014 to 2018 (last recorded new sale) run was a few hundred off the Tesla model 3 YTD for last year.

I find this argumentative. No mention was made of falcon numbers.

Simply, at the moment, tesla3 isn't a top 3 selling car.

It's not a personal attack to mention this.

How so - it's literally in third position.

If you want to take a proper look at sales figures then you need to do it on a yearly basis.

These figures aren't measuring 'sales' on a monthly basis, they're measuring new registrations in that month.

How can you use this data to measure 'sales in January 2023' when the Ranger you ordered in January 2023 is probably going to be registered in June 2024?

I think you’ll find that everything on a boat is pre sold months in advance,
getting Pumas and Escape out of Europe is a never ending struggle…..

Ranger + Everest sales has to be close to 90% of Ford’s sales last month.

This sounds like a bitter juvenile post.

Why would someone in this Forum mention the above, what has this to do with 3 months of Telsa sales ?

The Falcon is dead, it has nothing to do with VFacts January 2023

That's, fine. Measure the results by year and then tell me which models are the most different to their monthly sales stats...

I don't mind waiting...

But it outsold the highest selling sedan for a very long time last year. Credit where credit is due, the sedan is selling very well. Some people just can't say one nice thing nor concede that they're going well

Because it puts in perspective the result of almost 11,000 cars sold last year and the almost 3000 for January. That even if supply ebs and flows, it's still decent numbers to put on the board early. Monthly numbers were a problem, ok. Yearly result was pretty decent, still nothing good to say. Next year, back to the monthly numbers and waiting to see Yearly numbers. Only for that to be dismissed again.

I don't care for Tesla per say. Point is Ford could be missing a trick by not even trying to address this market locally because certain feedback groups tell them sedans are dead and no one wants an EV.

Mentioning that tesla figures fluxuate more than nearly all other manufacturers due to the way they do shipments, isn't being negative but also offering perspective.

Or do you dispute this fact?

I drove the old EB Everest in China and I thought it was fantastic. Smoother, felt quicker and just more refined. I'm just not sure our market would embrace the engine in that segment. And to be fair to the Everest, the new V6 has been well received and they can't keep up with demand as is so no need to introduce another engine into the lineup just yet. Once demand tapers, they can investigate it. Or if states introduce emissions based rego like they have done in ACT.

Mach E couldn't get here soon enough though they need to price it right. I don't think they will given their track record but they did drop the price to match Tesla in the US so maybe they'll price it similar to the Y. With Tesla slowly opening up their network to other cars, it makes other brands look very attractive.

Who would have thought this was going to happen even 6 months ago. Prado has lost it's 5 star safety rating as well, so it's probably copped a huge drop in fleet sales.
Prado wait time is "we're not sure" if you order one you'll probably get a next generation model.
It's sales figures are due to supply, nothing more.

Thailand factorys are just more efficient at pumping out vehicles than Japanese ones at the moment.

No it’s a rubbish juvenile internet post about the last Ford built in Australia, it’s also disrespectful for anyone that engineered, or helped to manufacture the last of the Australian built fords. It has nothing to do with your Tesla obsession.

It’s a “**** post” on “The Australian Ford Forum”, but you’ll argue it isn’t.
