Don't take my word as gospel, I'll have to get back in touch with them. I think I will get it done when I get back from this swing.

As far as I understood it, I wasn't going to actually get the flash tuning device, simply the tune, so of course if I wanted to reflash/return to stock I'd have to take it back to them.

When it comes to tunes, I am jealous of the MK1 Focus drivers!

I wonder why there isn't a chip/off the shelf tune for the Mk2 Focus, considering all the Mazda 3's and Ford Focus' out there using the MZR/Duratec engine?!?

Looking forward to seeing the results! You've got the intake and cat-back exhaust modifications right?

Mazda3s use a different ECU. No known ECU tuning available for them.

The flash tuning device is normally VIN locked to your vehicle, so that it can't be used on another vehicle unless you return the first vehicle to stock. Not really sure what they are up to

Yeah thats exactly why SCT cracked it, because tuners were just doing tunes for multiple cars with 1 flash box then resetting the VIN lock.

Yup, intake and 2.5 cat-back. I'll post the results as soon as it's done.

As I understand it, the tuning device they use is VIN locked, but the tuner purchases licenses for each car, so one tuning device is used for multiple cars, but they pay a fee for each car that is tuned.

Just an update here - if you want to buy a custom tuning units, there are two options for the Focus MK2 from Dreamscience:

The DSF3000 Unit , which can be purcahsed from HERE at Pumapseed.

OR The X-Cal 3 (Probably the equivalent of the "X3" tuning unit from SCT).

Both of these come blank, ready to be custom tuned using the Advantage III software from SCT.

Still, as far as I know, there are no pre-loaded tunes available on a tuning unit for the MK2.
