Back in the days of the "true" Street Machine expression session (not this crap they have now), one of the ideas was a XD coupe. Then the dedicated "Expression Session" Book, there was two article break outs. One was for the hot-rod Torana, the other was a black 2 Door XD. The bloke had even had the glass fitted at this stage.

Never heard of them either after that.

The guys from the ESP section would be able to shed more light on this, I heard this through them a few years back. I believe it goes something like this... there were 5, 2 door ESP's made, all black, 4sp, 351's. And they were given to the highest selling Ford dealer in each state. I'm pretty sure they weren't factory though.

Yeah they would look bad but imagine a xb sedan turned into a coupe it probably wouldn't look that good either but if they did the job properly and made it like a fast back and maybe altered the rear end a little it may look ok

That is very cool. It certainly has a hint of Camaro with the front.

When can I buy one?

A little OT, but ca someone please explain to me why that blue AU coupe looks so out of proportion? I just can't put my finger on it.

XD was originally going to use carryover XC doors, and ute body. If this XD version had gone ahead the old coupe body would have probably continued on with an XD front.
