not only does the 351 clevo produce sh!tloads of power and torque , the sound of one pulling 6 grand is the closest thing to a bl@w job you can get without dropping your pants.lol.

Smallblocks are where it's at now days, after market block with Cleveland heads (carbed)
I took this video last Sunday, 427ci made 718hp and 616 ft/lb on pump fuel.

Well thats a given,guess ill go put a high helix on me lawn mower and claim it makes 100hp without further clarification.
The MOST I know a 250 of making N/A is about 350hp,and that was a methanol injected hamburger with the lot.

Therers more moving parts to a carb, so the whole KISS thing doesn't apply

Besides even if it were so theres more to it than that,a carb is a self compensating device,it works on vacuum through the booster,it will only pull what fuel the car needs at any rpm or throttle position.
Once set correctly,there is very little to go wrong,no dirt in meters,or clogged injectors,and best of all no electronics to short out/reset/get wet,you cant get more simple,also a carb will ALWAYS make more power than EFI where it counts that is testament to those old time engineers that perfected them..

So you've never had a stuck needle and seat?? You talk about making power where it counts and I assume by this you mean on the street, do you seriously suggest that a worked carbed motor is a better prospect than a properly tuned EFI setup? Maybe your talking about outright performance in which case you wouldn't bother with a carb and go straight to mech. injection.

No in the useable power curve,think top revs in one gear to where you end up shifting the next,usually a 1500-2000rpm drop,power at 1800rpm does'nt matter if your actually using what you have.

Yes I do,for one most efi setups just dont have the volume to supply higher HP levels,besides what ive posted before re simplicity a well built modified carb will atomise fuel better that any efi setup,the only efi worth anything for racing is an IR setup,and thats only because you can size runner lengths and csa to suit your combo,and even then they wont make more power,what they will do is "recover" better on gear changes,which evens it up,but we are talking a $5000+ setup.

No I wouldnt,try having a look at whats involved in tuning one of them,everything,from feed pressure/return volume to engine temperature rears it head to stuff you up,they are almost undriveable at part throttle a carb is not,besides that I dont know if it would do any better on petrol than an IR sheetmetal manifold with twin carbs..

That's sooo true, the carby V8's will always sound better than an EFI DOHC V8 but today we have so many options for getting more power from our engines eg. a flash tune can get you up to 30hp without even touching the engine!!...benefits of technology I guess.

Back then if you had 1hp/ci you had a well tuned V8...today we have 330ci V8's making 405hp or about 1.2hp/ci. We can thank DOHC and EFI for that...

Thats my point. A flash tune can gain more kw but without touching the engine. WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT. The ideal flash tune for me would be a 60s pin-up girl in a bikini checking my oil. OL' SKOOL all the way. :

Ahh global warming...what's that got to do with high-powered V8's

But seriously, car emissions make up a VERY small percentage of all global warming, the sun being the biggest contributor...or so I've heard.
