As stupid as it sounds would have to be the first car, just a normal eb fairmont. Most likely just because of the freedom it gave me and never ever let me down. Really want another clean eb or ed one day.

XE ESP (always loved the shape) or red XP hardtop. Would love a G6E as a daily, doesn't even have to be a turbo - although would be better of course. Those guys from Thrifty keep me in one every month or so anyway when we travel.
Reality plan though is a Territory AWD Ghia with the ZF in the not too distant future to replace the Fairlane and Forester. Forester can't tow the boat and hardly gets used anymore. Might sell it soon. I love my Fairlane though. Always wanted one. My old man had an EA Ghia wagon new and we all loved it. I couldn't bear to sell my 'lane though (and not worth much at the moment in any event) so might end up covered up in a shed down at my in-laws farm for a while. He had a ZG show car so he will understand, and will probably drive it now and then.

XC R/pak , 351 , 4 speed. had it for about 4 years until some b***d**d crashed into it and wrote it off in `96.
the XB i got to replace it and still have comes a close second. i love the BA too but it dosnt have the caractor of the older models

i`ve had 3 falcons , my first was a standard 1967 falcon 500 with a 289 and cruiseomatic , it was close to immaculate, my next henry was an xc 351 ute 4 speed, i ended up getting rid of it before fixing it up how i wanted it, the temptation to be naughty was too much (HEY I WAS YOUNG!!!), i`ve had plenty of other cars non fords, but without any doubt the s2 xr6 i`ve done more carefree miles in than any other car, the xr6 has managed to steer its way out of an accident that very few other cars would have avoided imo, its towed a van nearly to the top of australia and back in 40c heat aircon running full bore without a single problem, it rides a bit harder now but i still love to drive it, the 1st xr is a close 2nd, .......there must be something with XR`s .

XR GT... the tail lights, the GT badge. It was all class. And I love the fact that it helped change the history of Australian motoring. Of course,I have never been so lucky as to have owned one. I guess I just have to settle for the AU for the time being.

I've owned so many Fords I can't even remember them all - it's an age thing!
There's been Falcons, Fairmonts, Fairlanes, LTDs. There's been sedans, wagons, utes, and coupes. There is not a model run that I haven't owned at least one car from. The best - easy - AUs are the best. Righto, truth be known FGs are the best, but I don't own one so I won't vote for it LOL. My favourite - obvously the AUIII T-Series. |

In the context of what others have posted, mine sound very ordinary, but here goes.....
In 2003, I sold my '92 XF 5spd Panel Van (LPG) and for $100 extra got into a one owner '95 EF GLi 5spd (LPG) in Polynesian Green. Cheap to run, good power, good looking on 17's with tinted glass, smooth, quiet and with the fun of a manual when required, this thing was awesome for the money. I sold it when my mechanic told me that it needed almost every suspension bush available, but I guess you can expect that once you hit 355,000ks......without a cent spent on anything other than normal consumables. That car was so good to me I owed it a better retirement than to sell it to someone else. I regret letting it go, even though everything I had since has been technically better - there has been nothing close to it in terms for value for money.

I had an EB 5.0 Ghia for about 6 months - Fantastic car. It was old and worn out and slow but looked great lowered on big rims and with everything colour coded silver. The inside was all LCD displays, leather and velour and it smelt like beer, cigarettes and sex. I've owned faster Falcons and better looking Falcons, but there was something about that one that I loved. Good times.

the TerminatoR has to be the best (aussie) ford ive seen built, if there is one better i havent seen it on here. thats only my opinion
as far as a certain model it has to be th FG F6, its unbeatable.

The BA XR6 Turbo. Not only did the BA bring the Falcon into the 21st century, but the engine it was equipped with is still one of the greats in Australian history IMHO. There was something so incredibly exciting about having a restyled AU Falcon, the former under dog finally getting it's rightful place. I will never forget first seeing it in WHEELS in 202, the Fairmont Ghia first, then the XR6 Turbo. I read those first reviews so many times my magazine fell apart. Plus the TV commercial, was IMHO the greatest advert ever made for an Aussie built car. It evoked such emotion, I get shivers down my spine thinking about it. A truly wonderful car, and maybe this was because I was not a fan of the AU or because the AU was such an under dog, but regardless of all this, even today it's such a wonderful car. Without that, we wouldn't have the FG and the VE, because the BA was so good they were forced to improve on it.

My favourite is my XY.. I don't care about anything else. Yes its loud, yes its rough and bumpy and yes it does send vibrations up your spine when driving.. I wouldn't trade it for the world or a bag full of money...
My other favourite was my BAII XR6T 6spd manual... What a package it was.. Damn shame I had to sell to fund a block of land though!

Have had a number of Ford's, including a GT & 2 door variants but the one that I bought new and will not sell is the AU11 XR8 220. The best modern cruiser that I have owned, handling, economy, the quad headlight front - still enjoy every minute behind the wheel.

even though every single other car iv owned has been better including an xr8 ute and my current xr6 my fav for some strange reason has gotta be my first car an ED. bought it for two grand and owned it for two years and in 70k the only thing that went wrong with it was a fuel pump, i loved it cause it was low, had a sound system worth more then the car in it, more comfortable then my lounge room and i could drive it on gravel roads and park it wherever i wanted true care free motoring. it was quicker then all my mates commos and pulsars to regret selling it should have used it as a second car:(

I'm only onto my 2nd Falcon so for me it has to be my el xr8, i loved my EB as it was my 1st, but the EL puts the biggest smile on my dial lol!

The current GT is probably the favourite all round Ford I have owned.
Closely followed by my TE50 Series 1 I had. Then ED Fairmont AU v8 One Tonner

Well i have been a ford fan since i got my first ford at 16 a MK 2 Zephyr followed by a MK3 sometime later. My favorite falcon was my lovely 289XR Fairmont.A lovely car that i owned for 11 years. It never let me down.I have had a Ed Sprint and it was a fun car A few AU's my favorite was the AU3 XR8 sedan and of course my current ride the BAXR8 manual sedan. Ive owned it a few years now and has quite a few mods. I enjoy driving it every day.

I have owned a few over the years, my favorite is by far my current ride, my FG F6. But I always loved both my EL XR6 sedans. Especially the first as I helped assemble it at Broadmeadows. It was a 97 EL XR6 sedan, manual, with a/c, cruise and cd player.

My immediate family has never had a Falcon in the house, so my favourite would probably be my Mum's old Mk2 Escort that she bought for university (early 1997).
It had a really dodgy aftermarket air conditioner which made the car break down. By the end of our ownership (Mid-1999), its taillights were falling out, it had a cheapo tape deck installed, and was still running on Leaded!! We traded it in for a brand new (at that time) Camry. My Dad's Festiva on the other hand was (as expected) an utter pussbox (it was still better than the Lexcen that he owned before). My extended family however, had many Falcons, and even Fairlanes. Upon moving to Australia from Italy, my grandfather (who died twenty years before I was born) supposedly drove an XW sedan. My Aunt drove an EA for a little while (I remember going to Coles Garden City in that thing), but she traded it for (guess what) a Festiva. My other Aunt (who lives in the Perth Hills and sells plants and produce at the markets) has fortunately seen the light. She got rid of her VH Commodore and now has two EBs. A series 1 sedan for a city car, and a series 2 wagon for a market car. Sadly, her husband and daughter still haven't (my uncle drives a VZ ute, and my cousin drives a WB ute). I also think that the NC Fairlane/DC LTD is a very nice looking car for its age and shape.

From an emotional point of view, I would have to say my first car, the XF Fairmont, not that the car was very good, but just had a lot of good memories with it.

In my younger day, I really enjoyed the 302 XB Falcons I owned,
I felt they had a great balance of performance and fuel economy. Being a Cleveland, the 302 could be warmed up fairly easily too... |

Hard to say which is my "favorite", owned plenty over 24 years, XY, XB, XC, EF, AU x 3, BA, BF now FG..
Some "toys" others daily drivers, each had their own character, pros and cons. My very first car, an XC GS rally pack, flame red 351 4spd holds a special place for me for obvious reasons. Of the GT's the XY got all the looks, XB was a brute due to the engine. With the benefit of previous model ownership the FG is the "best". Ive never owned a Falcon that was not an improvement on the previous model as a car, some were small steps up, some massive but like them all for different reasons. Must say the AU's shook my faith a bit although the 220 XR8 was a "nice" car. The FG is the most "cohesive" Falcon i have owned.

I had an XC GS 351 ute that was okay but the slowest car I ever owned.
I loved the colour (blueprint) and the look of my MA XR6T ute, loved the performance and reliability of the BF F6 ute, but as you would expect by far the best drive is the FG F6 ute I now have. I just hope it proves as robust and fuss free as my BF.

I can't really decide...
I've had 4 Fords now, although with the latter two I was looking at Commodores, Toyotas, etc but just happened to find the right Ford at the right time. 1) XE GL 5 speed - (to date) my most reliable car, and my first car. Having that first car pride & (back when it was important, lol) beating my mates in their earlygirl Commodores was great. Phear teh powah of the 3.3 2) EB supercharged 5.0 Ghia - as far as "fun" goes, this was great for modifying, cruising, skids, & racing. It turned into a slapper though from age, mods (SSLs + std shocks tends to stuff your ride haha), & lack of care :P 3) EF candywagon - similar to the XE in the whole freedom factor, going camping & roadtrips & stuff. Was a cheap buy, cheap to run on gas, purely an A-to-B car, & until just before I sold it was very reliable. 4) Current car, BF Fairmont. Haven't had it long enough to really categorise it but if it's reliable in the long term I think it will be my favourite in all regards except "fun". I'll probably get another EA-ED to muck around with to plug that "fun" gap! They're a hoot to drive. |
