I've had an xg, it wasn't great. I have owned an fg ute that was, and now I have an AUII. It's miles ahead of the xg and miles behind the FG. But it cost xg money, so I'm ok with it!!

I suspected the AU feels a big keep forward from XH, as did the BA from AU and the I've experienced the keep from BA to FG. On the flip side I've experienced to much debt so unless I can find a BA cheap and 6 speed then I agree that AU would be the happy medium.

I don't actually think to me, that the BA felt heaps better than the AU. They are both great cars, each with their own positives.

In fact with our sedan we went from AU to FG because the BA-BF didn't feel enough of an improvement and I preferred the AU steering, seats and economy.

For me the FG is the quantum leap over BA-BF that AU was over XH.

Seriously, I love my AU2 Ute. I think it looks sharp and has always driven well but now handles very well since i've installed some lowered king springs, Monroe GT Sport shocks and whiteline swaybar in the front end plus fitted 18" alloys and tyres.

As has been confirmed the AU-BF cabins have the baby anchor. Go the AU, it is a very happy medium of dollars versus benefits!

get an AU. I had a AU Series 1 XR8 ute and it was a great car. The seats are far more comfortable than the BA, seat position is better too. Also I think the windsor sounds better than the 5.4.

Never driven an XH XR8 ute but have driven the normal XH and wasn't impressed although I can see why you want one. They're a nice looking car with full bodykit and 16" mags
