it would be worth that and more if the hughs brothers had of restored it. I have been lucky enough to been in the 48/215 that they restored and i am still in awe..............

Its an investment piece. paying 1.5 million for a oil slapped on a canvas is stupid, but people do it, and it appreciates. basically at this age / rarity a car transcends transportation and enters the art world.
If sentimentality didnt exist all of them would have either 350s or water in them by now.

Like a previous forum member said, it's free advertising for this guy, he probably never got offered anything for it, it's odd it was offered by an overseas person? Maybe an ex-pat Australian living in the UK or something?
