Had a look at a V8 fastback at the local dealer a few weeks back. Fit and finish looked good to me. IMO its a lot of car for just shy of 60k or there abouts. Its not what id chose (As much as i like it)

Your Falcons were obviously not Australian built like mine were then, cause they were rubbish. Although I still loved them at the time and they didn't make me hate on other cars.

Rubbish - had 3 different Mustangs whilst working stateside and fit and finish was similar to Oz Falcon. FG interior is nothing to hold up as a standard.

My concern with the interior is the cup holders!!! They clearly haven't swap them around with the LHD models. I want a manual & I have Falcon now & I thought the Falcon was bad in this regards, the Mustang looks worse

Anyone expecting to get a all the bells and whistles of an up spec super refined limo i think are deluding themselves ,
from what i can see the mustang was not intended to be going against euro`s with snazzy interiors with all the bells and whistles , .......... plain and simple its a good handling cool looking good performing retro cruiser/muscle car with a nice symphony coming from the nice little v8 engine ........or the other one :(......... seriously ....cup holders ...... who gives a toss ! any color you want ... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/4007...s=true&viphx=1 |

I like the way people come on here and pick the crap out of the interior and design but did a little research would know the interior design is based on the 1965 Mustang. If you don't like it don't buy it please don't come on a Ford forum and consistently bag out Ford products because I for one don't give a Sh...

Personally I don't think there is much difference overall between the quality of the Falcon and the Mustang. I've spent the past the past 15 years driving Falcons (AUII XR6VCT, BA XR6, BAII XR6 Turbo, FG XR50 Turbo) and love them. I've had my Mustang for a month and also love it.
To me the interior of the Mustang feels better than the FG. Some of that is because it feels fresher and more modern, but generally, the materials overall seem on par if not better than the Falcon. I doubt anyone coming out of a Falcon or something similar will feel disappointed. Unfortunately it's a shame Ford didn't fit the premier interior to the RHD export cars as that would have given us the soft touch door plastics and stitched dashboard. Such is life though... Panel fit seems to be the biggest quality issue for the Mustang. While i'm happy with mine there are a couple of gaps that aren't perfect. No doubt this is an issue with the Mustang and you need to check the car very carefully before accepting delivery. I don't recall ever having to worry about this with any of my Falcons. Mechanically each one of my Falcons had an issue that needed to be fixed under warranty. The AUII had a fuel surging issue, the BA needed a differential replaced and the front disks warped numerous times, the BAII leaked every time it rained and wasn't parked on perfectly flat ground, and, the FG also had to have the differential replaced and did a number of diff bushes. Sure each one of these issues got fixed but each one seemed to require a fight with the Ford dealer to get it fixed. Will see how the Mustang holds up on this front.

I think we're on a similar page, and I have found the same with Aus built Fords.
I like where they spend their money on the car vs say Holden. Put them beside each other and it shines through everywhere. Holden have big bling wheels, big rear brake calipers, fancy interior control/entertainment systems, whereas Ford have modest stuff here and invest it in tuff motors, slick autos etc instead. But when I read a review that says the GT is taxi spec inside for eg I just smile and nod and say to myself, it sure has, thats why we got a $20M engine, cause its basically the same as a yellow cab inside. I don't get all bent out of shape and push back saying thats crap its opulent inside and anyone who says otherwise is on crack Its a pov car with a stonking driveline, thats why I bought it, and thats how it should be reviewed by anyone who is at all realistic |

I like nice interiors.
A hot driveline and a lush interior is the perfect combo for me. I like bear boned cars as well where engine performance and handling is the main criteria. I don’t think there is any problem with the reviewer pointing out which category the Mustang falls in as the review is written for everyone to read and not just enthusiasts. It’s a new take on an old muscle car and the interior is ordinary, so what. If people who are used to buying Aussie built cars decide they don’t want one because of the interior then all I can say is they didn’t really want one to start with. The first time I see one on the road I’m going to hang my head out the window and yell, I don't like the interior and I’m sure the driver is going to care. |

I am not sure why people care what car reviews say? You know everything they are going to say.. You have to expect them to point out the bad points but you should expect it when you already know you a buying a bogans Ferrari. Just enjoy your car

Judging by what i saw on a recent trip to california camaros are about 4 times more popular than mustangs for some unknown reason. They were everywhere. I tried to hire a mustang but none of the rental companies had one so ended up with a v6 rs camaro. The one day drive i did in the camaro was pure torture for me as im 195cm tall and had to squeeze myself into it. It had less room than the mini metro i owned in the UK. The camaro was cheaply made inside the same as most US cars but the v6 was suprisingly sweet and sounded great while the car handled realy well.
Why amd i saying all this? I honestly wouldnt be suprised at all if holden releases the camaro here and it similarly outsells the mustang here as it seems to do in the states. FORD has really just shat on its fans yet again with the mustang. Its an awesome car but they are feeding us watered down basic models with fun stuff removed. If they were serious they would have come in hard with the whole range of mustangs and also brought in access to the ford performance gear thats available stateside. I just dont think ford australia really gives a dam about large perfirmance cars anymore and the only true performance options in their range will end up being the fiesta and focus turbos. Sure youll be able to spend a truck load of cash on your aussie mustang and make it into a beast but these early offerings are limp. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk |

The problem, no one really gives a dam about large cars anymore. The market is shifting away from them. More people are moving towards turbo charged 4 cylinders and with good reason. A turbo charged AWD focus that would dust the mustang from a standing start and also be able to actually turn corners? Game over for the larger performance car

I am hoping someone can shed some light on the introduction of SYNC3 (which will soon feature Apple Car Play and AndroidAuto) into Australian Mustangs. SYNC3 is already standard on the 2016 American built Mustang but I am seeking confirmation that Australia will be getting it soon as well?
