Go Focus! about frikken time they sold that many! hopefully the influx of focii on the road will make tuners and workshops wake up to the fact that we need focus aftermarket parts!

Utility - 1,488 (1,572) -5.3%
Fairlane/LTD - 73 (209) -65.1%

Total - 6,758 (8,465) -20.2%

Ford - fully imported vehicles

Focus - 2,320 (772) +200.5%
Courier - 803 (773) +3.9%
Fiesta - 730 (410) +78.0%
Transit - 253 (281) -10.0%
Escape - 188 (211) -10.9%
F250 - 75 (186) -59.7%
Explorer - 11 (45) -75.6%
F350 - 5 (11) -54.5%

The locally manufactured models improved in May however the results are still very poor. The imported models have made a huge impact with the Focus and Fiesta leading the way. Last May it was 3 local Fords for 1 imported Ford sold. This year this figure has been halved.

As to the dark side.........

Negligible improvement over April's dismal figures for the locally manufactured models. For the imported models it can be seen that the Daewoo sourced cars aren't selling as well as the Opel sourced cars used to sell.

Diesel - 12,196 (15.1%)
LPG - 1,144 (1.4%)
Hybrid - 359 (0.4%)

Total - 80,799 (2,658 heavy commercial vehicles not included)

For May 2005 the fuel types were as follows:

Petrol - 70,259 (86.4%)
Diesel - 10,094 (12.4%)
LPG - 798 (1.0%)
Hybrid - 153 (0.2%)

Total - 81,304 (2,650 heavy commercial vehicles not included)

Dedicated petrol powered vehicles lost more than 3% of their market share. Last May 1 in 7 vehicles sold used alternative fuels. This May 1 in 6 vehicles sold use alternative fuels.

The Adventra is really a Commodore too. Maybe Ford should separate Ghias and call them a different model. Take it up with VFacts SlickHolden

good to see the focus finally getting the recognition it deserves. Another 1000 or so more and it should be able to take on the overrated corolla. Fiesta also selling better but not as many as it deserves to. As for the Falcon, eventually i expect it to settle around the 3000 a month mark, anything over would be a bonus. Unfortunatly fuel prices will dictate the success of falcon, commo and aurion in the near future.

Just like how a Fairmont Ghia is NOT the same as a Falcon / Fairmont, but they are still listed under the category of Falcon / Fairmont. There isn't a single Falcon badge on the Ghia, just like how there isn't a single Commodore badge on a Calais. I have no problems calling my Ghia a Falcon, simply because a lot of underknowledged people don't even know what a Fairmont Ghia is. The simple fact is, like the Falcon / Fairmont Ghia relationship, the Commodore / Calais are linked together because a Calais is really a Commodore with heaps more equipment.

Exactly. Funny how both calais and Fairmont have the same platform. It's just what gets put inside the car. They are the same car hence why they're put under the commodore or falcon section. But the LWB is a different story.

I have meet so many people that take offence at there cars being called just a commodore or falcon when they have bought the up market version.
Sure there the same cars in general but these people don't buy them to be the same they buy them to be (posh hand comes out now) Better!, We meet a person once who owned a Calais many years ago, What do you drive a Commodore, What about you? A Calais with that toff voice
