An other pineapple milkshake lover here, but you just cant get them now.

My grandfather used to buy me a pineapple milkshake when I was a wee lad. It came served in a coloured metal cup. We would sit in a booth at a local café and drink them.

That was a while ago though!

Now my go to is chocolate malted!

Not my flavour choice, a while back but was waiting at a takeaway & some guy ordered a Vanilla shake with double ice cream and asked for 2 x Caramello Bears to be added to it.

WTF... I asked the old shopkeeper after and he said the bloke has done that for ages EVERY day for smoko !, asked him if he ever tried it ? - said only once and tasted like s***

There was a time when ice cream was put into every milkshake, but I noticed that these days ice cream is added extra.

If you have double ice cream it's called a Thick Shake

A toss up between a chocolate milkshake, with a donut on top, from Demazzis in Essendon, or a Lamington Big M.

Batties Corner in Cootamundra in the 60s had great milkshakes.

They used A GRADE RAW MILK (illegal now), stored the metal milkshake containers in the freezer; and had the milk in really big containers.

Before making a milkshake they would stir the container because the milk was not homogenised and all the cream would float to the top.

They just added flavouring, vanilla was my favourite, and beat it.

It was cold and think as - your cheeks would ache drawing the milk through a straw.

It must have been all that bacteria in it that made it taste so good.

Agreed - but Chocanana is what I call it. I once ordered "chocolate and banana milkshake please" and got 2 milkshakes - yep, one chocolate, one banana. When I explained I wanted one milkshake with both flavours, they tipped and combined and I ended up with 2, for the price of one!

Best place is my kitchen - fresh banana, cottees chocolate syrup, milk, and plenty of ice cream all in the blender - sometimes with a raw egg as well (gives great froth), and sometimes with a vanilla yoghurt thrown in too.

A close second favourite flavour is lime.

My favourite Chocolate / Banana thick shake is made with homemade Chocolate / ban ice cream with cold full cream plain milk added - then blend.

I think that's only if you get eat in. If you get takeaway it comes in a plastic oil pan. If you go for the higher k option, you may even be lucky enough to get metal shavings for a bit more texture.
