From my memory you could get a supercharger put on at the dealership and it was covered by factory warranty still but it got shut down by ford thats what i heard anyway not saying its true or not.

Actually Porsche developed it for their LeMans racers (956 or 962). It was heavier, but quicker per lap and easier to drive. VW bought the technology and only realised it when modern technology made it streetable.

The "warranty" that would have been offered with dealer fitted superchargers would have been provided by a third party, like the extended warranty on a used car. The factory warranty would have been made void with the installation. I've worked in the dealer warranty system, Holden, and there is no way a dealer could claim it was a factory warranty, not if the dealer wanted to keep trading that is.
