Actually there is one racer I highly recommend, funnily enough it's as far from what I usually like about racing games (real cars, lots of customsing etc.. basically GT) but it's just awesome and it's a downloadable game too.
Wipeout HD, this game is absolutely awesome arcade style racing. Very difficult but very fast too, gets the heart going especially online! If you've played the older Wipeout games you have a pretty good idea of what to expect, but this blows any other out of the water. So much faster and so much better. Pump up the volume and people will think you are having a party! : EDIT: If anyone wants to add me as a friend my ID is ShrapnelAus

With MGS4, make sure you play the previous games in the series too, to get the whole story otherwise you're pretty much screwed when it comes to knowing whats going on. Its more like playing a movie, if you skip a cutscene, you're screwed. Awesome game though, a bit different from the traditional MGS though, you can basically just run and gun through the whole thing rather than the old style stealth element to it.
If you like car games, Midnight Club LA is alright, though its very hard and its one of those games likely to make you throw the controller through the closest window. |

In terms of shooting games I'd say Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and soon to be released Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Also on the 15th of next month is the New Operation Flash Point Dragon Raising. It's got the same graphics as COD 4 but the map and gameplay leave it for dead.! ... The map is so huge that it will take you 9 1/2 Hours to run from one end to the other.

These guys do good game reviews, if you have a lot of patience and like watching lots of cutscenes, getting deeply involved in a storyline, then Metal Gear Solid 4 would be a good pick up, plus it comes with Metal Gear Online which is a really fun game if you like shooting from behind walls, hiding in cardboard boxes, sneaking around or just running and gunning in a team or by yourself. GTA IV was alright, but it pales in comparison to GTA San Andreas I reckon, it was too short compared to GTA:SA and you couldn't customise cars or play two player on the same console. Resident Evil 5 is great, an excellent continuation of number 4..
GTAIV is great as has been stated(I've got the UK uncut version - not sure if the AUS version is as good...) Infamous is great fun Rainbow 6 vegas 2 was great, but i thought it was a little short in story mode, but the terrorist hunts keep you busy after the story mode The missus loves Starwars Lego.. I have to battle to get the game out of the console so i can play a real game... I dont like saints row 2, the game makes me feel sick, and after the driving in GTA being so realistic, saints row is a let down.. i dislike F.E.A.R 2, the game made me feel sick watching him hop around every step you take.. after playing resident evil 5 there was no comparison.. Assasins Creed is great but very repetitive, apparently number 2 is coming out soon and will be awesome. And most of all I love our white controller, it goes soooo well with the black controller and console (even though it looks like a storm trooper..)

I just got a new PS3 and a W series bravia today. GT5 better come out. I wanted the PSP bundle but decided to get the PS3 instead. I wanted the PS3 for GT5. I have a 360 for other games. Also wanted the PS3 for baseball games, cheap imports and FFXIII.

Both game are awesome and well worth a purchase. I really don't see how you can dislike it because the camera moves around too much when you walk, I didn't even notice it till you mentioned it. Fallout 3 is another game I highly recommend, it's an FPS (well first person shooter/adventure/rpg) with a whole lot of depth and variety. It's a huge game and very addictive once you get going. The story is excellent and the combat system is such a great idea, it never gets boring. Be warned though; it is very violent and gory, definitely a game made for adult audiences.

ST: I made the comparison because i was given both games at the same time, and they are both games that involve running around with guns killing enemies.. The story line means very little to me. And im not sure how you could NOT notice the jumping around of the screen in Fear 2.. everyone that played it here said the same thing.. maybe it's just the big screen making it seem more obvious, but it was enough to make me put the game away..
sorry to have offended you with my comparisons and complaints tho.. each to their own.

Here is a youtube video of Fear 2 gameplay to prove what you are saying is ridiculous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZbSU...eature=related The 'jumping around of the screen' is a slight up and down movement to simulate walking, do you get sick when you walk down the street? I also play my games on a large screen and it makes no difference. Sorry to come off so harsh but you are making a big deal out of something so minimal you are letting it put you off a really good game.

Currently waiting for GT5 at the moment. Enjoyed Prologue .... but finished it quickly and wanting more.
Just purchased Grid on special ... so that should keep me amused for a bit. I want to get DiRT 2 ... and NFS Shift look decent as well.

Hey guys,
For those of you who are interested in backing up your ps3 games to blank bluray disks, there is a few software packages floating around that will do it. A friend of mine has tried it and the software works, however the PS3 won't read then. I think the solution is to use an external bluray drive, but am not sure. Will try it for myself and will update if I have any success |

Hanging for Final Fantasy XIII...It's going to be epic!
Dante's Inferno is out on Thursday (4/1) and it should be a great game. Played the demo and loved it! Couple more games to look out for this year: Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Final Fantasy XIV & God of War 3.
