Pretty ironic they guy nicknamed McCrash for his exploits died in a helicopter crash. He had some serious balls and was never afraid to push his cars to their absolute limits. RIP.

When I heard the news at Sandown today, I could not believe it. We have lost two rally legends in less than two years. First Richard Burns in 2005, and now Colin McRae. Condolences to his family and friends. Colin, you will certainly be missed.

Absolutely tragic news, the list of iconic motorsport personalities unfortunately seems to be getting bigger.

I'm still shocked having heard it this morning.
A friend told me to expect BBC/Top Gear to announce that he was the Stig? I read it somewhere on the net also. Great bloke, yet another tragic loss in the motorsport world. RIP Colin. :( |

Reports confirm a Helicopter crash with no survivors near the Champion Rally Driver's Strathclyde Scotland home. Apparently, Colin McCrae was nearly as adept at the controls of his Helo as a car. His son Johnny (5) and another unnamed male and child were supposedly (unconfirmed) on board too. Hopefully the reports are wrong and the children were not on board, the wreckage is bad enough that they cannot tell how many were in there.
Very sad news. |
