I do some gig delivery work on an abn and get a part pension -wife works so its about 40 per cent of the normal pension.

I dont make a lot of money on the gig work as the rates are low -enough to balance the budget put aside money for holidays etc.

Each 13 week period I report to Centrelink net profit with costs. So this year I can earn $11800 without it affecting the pension.

The form you use is a SU580 profit and loss statement. Youc an download it from the services australia website.

I dont use a bookkeeper -just do it myself.

At the end of each tax year you do have to lodge a tax declaration through a tax agent-expensive sadly.

How do you fill out form and how is there a fortnight limit to what you can earn before deductions and will they review your dsp or whatever pension you’re on

Can the form be done online

How do you fill out the financial section of the form if it’s only part time with little expenses or can you get away with not filing it if you provide your own statement

Print it off - fill it out - photo it / upload to Centrelink via their appropriate section.

Say in my case costs

Petrol for business kilometres
Depreciation again for business
Insurance business portion
Repairs
Maintenance
Tyres
Phone cost - business portion

Bought a laptop claimed business portion against expenses

But as somebody else said make an appointment through the Centrelink national ph no to go and see your local office.
I find them ok to deal with.

Oh!
You can’t claim wages unless you employee someone!

How much is the postage? If you're in the middle of nowhere, it may not be worth the bother, especially if selling stuff others may consider junk.

hi

those of you that moved out of parents or share house what did you lot experience to know that its time to think about moving out.

what did you or could you do until you are able to buy your own place which could be hard for a single person these days though not impossible or take forever if you didnt or dont want to rent and pay similar money in rent as you would paying off your own place and not be able to do what you want to place.

as many of you know theres not much difference in cost between renting (thats if you can find anything) and buying and with buying you can do what you want to place where with renting you are limited and you never know when youll have to relocate.

some days am providing clues and feel like it may be time to think about it but dont want to rent and not be able to do what you want to place when for similar money you could buy.

the owner of place that am working at bought a apartment in adelaide as well as keeping the house in thte yp and may be wrong but it sounds like she bought it outright but she works 7 days a week and has done for 15 years.

how would you be able to do the same or at least come up with the deposit without working 7 days a week like she does or work all night until early hours with little sleep if any like her nephew is known to do.

her nephew bought a workshop with a unit and can think of following as to how he got the deposit for it.

1. automotive industry pays more than hospitality.

2. his old boss owed him a lot in wages (may be wrong but did hear that).

3. he may be a want everything now person and now has to work so much to pay for everything.

would the above be about right, thats what am able to think of.

could accommodation and/or living expenses be claimed on tax and written off as a business expense if you need help to come up with deposit or to cover costs.

how do you and did you make money fast.

the reasons why lockdowns and isolations were hard is because the place that am living at doesnt have a big yard for you to have something of your own and you were stuck with the others when you are at that stage in your life where you want to live how you want to and have your own space and also the only thing you can do was possibly going to be made to close and you never know if and for how long and youre trying to do your best until you can get what you want.

you try and do the right thing and pay your way and wait if you have to and you suffer for it.

asking here because some of this post is about work and tax

The only way to consider living on your own is if you make enough money, consistently. You don't sound like you're any closer to achieving that than when you first started asking this.

What training have you started or completed? It seems like it's always just talk.

Are you able to write off shed costs or living costs on tax if you need assistance help pay for costs and to buy your own even though you are doing ok especially if you don’t earn same money as everyone else does.

At the same time you’re probably no better off on minimum wage by time you pay tax and pay full price on everything and probably child care costs.

How do you get assistance and help to buy your own if you can’t earn quite enough even though you get through ok

You can only depreciate shed build costs against income if the shed is used to generate income. In your case, you'll be going out to peoples sites to test tag rather than having them bring all their equipment to you. If the shed is used as a base where you do cable repairs, you can claim a deduction, but if the shed is also storing personal effects, you'd need to work out a fair % of work usage against personal.

Just need all the help that am able to get to buy own space, feel it’s time and trying to hang on until arm able to buy rather than pay same amount in rent if you can even find something and not be able to do what you want.

Just waiting until am able to buy own space and some days am wondering if there’s even hope, how do you get help and assistance to come up with deposit and cover costs

How do you be as well off as your boss with her apartment she bought probably outright to stay in or at least the deposit or as well off as her nephew without working 8 days a week or no sleep and work all night.

Think the nephew found it easy because the automotive industry pays more than hospitality which can understand why so many gave notice in last few years or his old boss owed a fortune in unpaid wages, it’s hard to say but may be everything.

Most would accept when it’s time and rent if they have to but some like me want to buy and won’t do anything until we are able to buy

Also because you’re trying to work hard but you don’t seem to be getting anywhere fast and who knows how much longer the grandparents will be alive, the grandfathers 90 and the grandmother is 84 this year and when they go or downside or go into a home then won’t have their shed and the days are likely numbered

hi

might as well ask here since these questions are work goals related.

is it the owner or business that counts as to a ideal time you try to stay at a job for example can you leave on changeover as you were with the current owner nearly 14 years or should you stay on for a few more months after handover.

if the person taking over wants to keep old staff on and you no longer want to work in hospitality and want to leave or that you are only able to come in and sort and clean the secondhand stuff what words would you explain to the owner at time to respectfully let them know.

also how would you respectfully let them know that you wont stay after handover and which owner would you let know.

want to do other things for work while still able to at some point and not expecting to make 20 years anyway in the hospitality industry and when you see others doing something you just think to yourself oneday youll be out just try hang on a little longer.

just trying to get head around things in preperation for what might happen.

might oneday ask centrelink about dsp if reporting when working for yourself part time is same as working for someone else part time where you can earn so much and so many hours before they start reducing, would that enquiry to them be a problem.

thanks
