I would have to say my sorest soft spot would be for the EF and EL XR6's. More specifically in manual guise with the optional body kit and 16"s. With a sunroof, damned cool!!
Back in the day if you had one of these, it was special, your dad probably worked in an executive position somewhere and had money (I was only 8 or 9 when they came out). Not like the XR6's from BA onwards. And they had the balls and the handling to back it up as well. The engines were slightly fettled, and they sounded different to the cooking models. Though my love for the Falcon has completely and utterly faded nowadays, I still do rubberneck if I see a clean and unmolested one of these. Just a nice looking design. IMO probably one of the best of the lot. Even just finding a photo of a stock one is difficult, what with the type of person who unfortunately buys into them nowadays. |

My XM Futura The XE van packed with tools that I almost lived in for 15 years, or maybe the 2 year old XK wagon I learnt to drive in.

EL XR8
and this one, the XA GT...when i was a kid, a neighbour down the road had one, automatic, same colour, but with a spoiler on the back. It was awesome. The guy across the road from him had the XB GT. Again with a spoiler on the back but it was manual. Loved both the cars.

Danny, I too have a soft spot for el XR's. I have a regency red xr8 in the shed. Same as your photo - 16s, full body kit, premium sound, headers, 185kw, the only draw back is ts auto. But at least it will be round for a long time! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Of the falcons I have owned and driven:
Fgx xr6 : not the fastest or prettiest thing out there, but hits the spot with me based on price and what you get to drive ... Outside of the fgx : the ED classic, wish I never sold it .....and it was the first car I ever bought new , even came with lsd. I remember the first day I met her, she was at 'Fury Ford' , shining in the sunlight and with her bonnet up ... it was love at first sight ... traded my Hz Holden kingswood for it ....

I'm not going to change my tune from force 8, but in 95 the old man was car shopping and my brother and I were full on get the xr6 wagon. It ended up being a Futura wagon. That car was faultless and never saw the back of a tilt tray. Whist nothing overtly special I like the later b series. I also have a Mk 2 fg but I don't have much appreciation for it.

I have had almost 1 of each from 1977 onwards
but i really want to add an XA to my collection out of the ones i have owned and apart from my BA GT, the old '99 AU1 XR8 ex cop car was my favourite, its was comfy, loud and went anywhere, sold it with 380,000km on the clock and it went on as a pilot car for a trucking company and i saw it a few times later one. still ran the original engine

B Series FPV hands down for me.
I'm grateful to have my fav parked in the garage, if I could afford another it would be XC GXL.

I was a Glenn Seton fan in the days of the AU, so for me the AU XR8's and the T series cars. I couldn't afford one back then but have made up for lost time now...
Growing to appreciate my daily BF3 wagon more, with the end of local production, its a comfy cruiser with enough room in the back for a load a parts and runs on gas at around 10L /100km so it leaves a bit in the bank to squirt the 'T' around on weekends.

Bseries for me as well. Sharper body lines and muscular body kits do it for me.
XW-XY, just pure muscle. Then the FG FPVs, the rest of the range is too limp wristed for me. Great drive lines, but the body and interior are to Camryesque. They'd look better on the outside if they had used the rear end of the FGX. But that interior... Then the T2-3 series AU. The less we say about the rest the better. Then the EF and EL XRs and EL GT. Great looking cars! I'm also partial to the XE but possibly because the family had 3 at one stage and it was my first car and parts car.

Too many to choose from.
AU for comfort and reliability EL & B series for looks. As far as specifics go, anything Tickford/FPV does it for me. Would still love a blueprint T3 TS50
