brake ducts on coupes, spoilers, mag wheels, stereo's, sports steering wheels, colour change - who would do such things to a car without consulting with everyone else first to get confirmation it is ok

and my pet hate - an ltd badge on a fairlane or fairmont coupe. what are they trying to prove

The 80's have more than just stickers to answer for, like chopping roofs off XY's and putting pontiac trans am front ends on monaros.

I can go one better.

Running around Sydney, is a Red, BA XR8. It has four Chrome Exhaust tips that extend out about six inches past the bumper, one of the aforementioned Rear Louvres, and an LTD Badge on the front. Looks like the ones that came of an ZL Fairlane/LTD.

I just thought of another one - Neons. Both the car and the lights.

I'm proud to be an Aussie, and try to stick with aussie made products whenever i can...but too many sheep put the ''bogan stamp'' on their cars or tattoo it on their bodies just to be trendy...i'm not joining in

There is a VZ ute i pass on the way to work in the moning covered with these bogan stamps...a southern cross in each corner of rear glass & the words ''Aussie Pride'' covring the rear window...and he's got Chevy bages on it - real aussie pride putting yank badges on it, & it's not even the V8.

Also seen a Hummer H3 with ''aussie pride'' on it - american car made in south africa is showing your aussie pride well, a few rodeos too...drivers to ignorant to know it's made in thailand.

chevy badges were mentioned in the title, i know...but i had to mention it again. A mate of mine has a sticker on the back window of his F-250 ''real cars don't wear bowties''...fitting i think.

Has anyone mentioned those front 'bull bar' looking things that looked like 3 fluorescent tubes??

They were something I kept scratching my head about...

Oh.. and retro fitting extra trailer style rear lights on the parcel shelf, with a central brake light that has the word STOP in it...

Me either, they make a car look cheap, and in some cases even half assed!

Actually they look that way in all cases!!

Aaah yes, I remember those things. My Aunty and Uncle had one fitted to their Datsun 180B (when they were new) and even as a kid I thought it was a bit strange to have something like that mounted at the front for protection and it was plastic :

I was told once that the plastic tubes were for keeping water in for an emergency :
