The ford model T probably still has the best visibility all round, and the dam thing is over 100 years old!

I went from a BA to a territory and i found the BA better as far as forward vision. I seem to find myself having to lean forward on right hand corners in the terri where i didn't have to with the BA. Even without the camera the other advantage the terri has going backwards over the BA is much bigger mirrors.

Being lucky enough to drive a Territory, BA XR6 and a VE i agree that the VE has absolutely poor vision all round. You can't see behind in the mirror if the stupid thing has a spoiler, can't see out the sides behind when you want to change lanes and the A pillar can block a Ford econovan at a roundabout.

The XR6 has the better vision than the territory.

Holden should be ashamed at spending that much money and getting the whole car wrong.

This would be a real race if all the V8 Supercars
were to drive 161 laps in reverse.
This would test out the rear vision of the cars.

^^If a Jag was in that race it would win with their 2 gears in reverse.

Ford Australia would be MAD NOT TO INSTALL reverse cameras in the new Falcons after learning about the VE's rear vision problems.
According to the media report it will only cost a car manufacturer a handfull of dollars per car to install a camera unit when on the production line.

actually, i rekon the car would be fine. But i do think in a crash you would literally fly out of the vehicle and go head first into whatever you hit

I am qualified to comment here as we have both a a Territory with a camera and a VE SSV in our driveway and I would agree TT=5 VE = 0.

The VE has terrible vision, huge a pillars and no rear vision at all. Thanks to tiny side mirrors, high back and a big wing just to make sure of it. My wife won't drive the VE.

I had a BA ute as well and it is fabulous compared to the VE

NB: the VE has some good points, vision isn't one of them.

I have 4 kids and only being 165cms i cant see very well out of the ef xr6, when reversing so i make sure before i have to reverse out of my yard that they are no where around, simple, if you can remember to stick the key in the ignition, or brush your hair, you can remember to make sure there is nothing behind your car, every time... :

Want better vision, slam your car. A Falcon sitting 4+" lower than standard provides good visability from everywhere as you are looking up at vehicles/people i.e un obstructed.

So parents out there, go grab the angle grinder and get a hacking.

i seiously dont know why people kepp saying the ve is a good car, with all there electrical problems and warranty complaints id say is a terrible car. I have driven a ve omega and i cant really say it was a good car or a bad car to drive, it was just a plain car to me, to be honest i rather drive my eb v8 fairmont, much smaller and nimble, good vision, and that lusty v8 note, now thats what i like!

Hey that,s not the attitude, remember they are the kids, we are the adults. We have to protect and care for them, not to forget that they exist and she will be right, mate. That is why so many of them die. And how about 11 kids drowning in the last 14 days, here in australia, why wasnt someoneone watching these kids, they need to be watched, all the time.

I was sitting out the front of a commercial building today on a small retaining wall waiting for my girlfriend and this guy was reverse parking his VE but he was looking at me the whole time. I was beginning to think this guy is being a smart asre by looking at me and not where he was going. But I then realised he was watching his reflection in the tinted shop window behind me to see how far he was to the car behind him.
I wonder if he only parks infront of shop windows now haha.

And for the record the VE is much worse the a BA/AU without reverse cameras and beepers.

I do that sometimes if there is a reflection glass or something, a guy was
about to bash me up cos he thought i was giving him the hand or something
as i was looking at the mirror and he thought i was looking at him.

Oh yeah, vision must be a doozy in these VE's. I hit one on my motorbike 2 days ago in the wet. He failed to give way to me at a roundabout, I looked right, no traffic. Looked left and seen him coming but too late to stop, he just passed on front of me and I hit his rear quarter panel. B@rstard kept driving.... Didn't even realise he'd been hit :
