For some reason I had it in my head that the 3.45 diff only went with the XR engine. (i.e. XR6, Ghia I6, XR8)... |

weird eh
according to the spec sheet (from broshure scans) all Ghias got 3.45 diffs. doesn't say anything else was available.

It's definitely a Limited slip, but whether it's a 3.23 or 3.45 is the question.. It should rev a little bit above 2000 revs with 3.45 in an I6, but i'm not sure about a V8? Should be the same shouldn't it?

i did the "jack it up and count" trick, so whether it came from factory, was an option, or the previous owner had 3.45's put in, i dont know.
Btw, its slightly over 2 grand @ 100 |

Mine's definitely got a 3.45 limo in it.
I definitely have to get out to the track and give it a run. I wonder if it'd break in to the 15's with the new MAF. Seems to run pretty well for it's age. LPG kills it though. Sundeep |

I will prob head up in the EA or EL (or EA on a trailer with the EL towing it lol) in the next couple of weeks too. I'll be on leave and I will see if I can kill the EA gearbox or diff or clutch or something.
If the EA doesn't go up I'll race the EL for kicks. It doesn't rip skids but :( It's crap downlow. Sundeep |

Last time I went to Calder I paid $50 and spent 5 days working on my car in preparation and only got 3 runs.

If we get there early enough, no reason why you cant get atleast 6 runs I would have thought. Calder is cooler (temp), and closer than heathcote. Swanny make a thread in the meets section to get some numbers, start or mid June would be good, gives people enough to to fix their cars...LOL

I'll see how I go. I was planning on towing the EA. I'm 100% certain something gearbox, clutch or diff related will fly off, break or start making funny noises because I'm not going to be gentle this time
I've got a cam and valve springs sitting in the garage now, ready to go on and am buying a new gasket and stuff for the turbo next week. Then it needs new plugs and oil and I'll race it. Sundeep |
