Front bumper reminds me of the FPV's, and the rest like that new Land Rover. I quite like it.

It's still just a concept picture, so it will never be as angry and muscular as that, but hopefully not by much.
Would like to see the picture with a number plate. It really made a difference when looking at the pic of the new Fiesta.

If it's the "first official image" why a sketch? Why not a pic of the real thing?
Or maybe it's the 'first unofficial official image' done by the artist from disguised testing pics he's seen.

Its a nice looking picture, but I reckon its just going to remain a picture. Looks like a total redesign, and one wouldnt expect something like that to happen on the current sales of the territory.

Not like this is from a magazine trying to sell copies?
Surely as this has been released from Ford it wouldnt be too exagerated or else they are setting themself up for failure if the production car dosnt live up to it?? |

If it looks anything like this than I think it will sell like it should, especially if it finally has a diesel in it

I like it! A good time to be bold with the styling. Initially, "Whoa! That's a Territory?" Then instant like.
Also good to release teaser shots of all sorts before release, keep people wondering how it will translate to the end product. Bigger wheel arch extensions, I see. Halogen lights? Chrome very prominent in grille, nice touch without the large horizontal bars of US models Like a G6E, nice! Is this the upper spec model? Being an owner, and considering upgrading to the diesel, I hope perception of quality of the model will be upped, securing higher resale. Time will tell... |

This car is going to have to a wow car. At the end of the day the SUV market is now bigger then the Large car segment.

Glass is unchanged, Bodyside is unchanged, but it wasn't between ED and EF, yet the two cars look very different.

knowing what the fiesta and focus fronts are like, and seeing the kuga in the other thread, its a pretty good indication of what territory will probably look like. i would say it will lose the 'american' feel, although the ranger gets the chrome grill treatment, as does the escape.
shots of camoflaged cars doing the rounds seem to indicate not much has changed at the back. |

Yeap there is definitely enough change there. Hopefully this thing gets the sales back to where they were.
Usually these drawings are close enough, it will look the goods. As the diesel is coming, will that mean the terry will get LPi or just the falcon? I wish they would just bite the bullet and make it available for both.

Hard to see why else you would release something like this so far out from release, when it could hurt current model sales badly. Dan |

and coincide New Territory with Falcon "changes" like EB I-4 and LILPG. That would seem to be around September/October next year, that why I'm saying Q4... |

Territory Turbo Ghia is dead, and there has never been, and never will be a Manual Territory. I6 and Diesel at this stage. There might be a chance for an EcoBoost Territory further down the line.

The only tooling that ford would need to take care of itself is the panel dies at the stamping plant. Everything else is via 3rd party suppliers. I dare say updating the production line computer system that controls all the robots and welders would be a mission - anyone know what's involved there? Seeing that stuff in action boggles the mind.
