Looks busy and unremarkable. One Ford will rob Ford of it's soul. Kuga looks playful and dynamic, this looks crap, IMHO.

maybe..but this is ablinged up picture...the real deal will always be alittle duller. My biggest plus is there is finally a new head and taillight design that is both diff and great looking...i like alot

Agreed....that with a nomal manual and tdi would be great for those who dont want to jump to a full size suv.

Ford US have a heap of info on the new Escape already...
http://www.ford.com/suvs/escape/2013...ode=312897-001
Ford Oz need to start leaking info about timing/engines etc.
Current Escape can't keep up with the competition...

Post Re: Ford Adds Flair with New Escape

Might be just in time to replace my ageing x-trail, the SUV's in that catergory don't do much for me at present.

New X-trail - styling is a little odd.
Subaru Forester - starting to look dated.
Toyota Rav4 - to small
Ford Escape - Very dated.
Mitsubishi Outlander - styling not my thing.

Shortlist at the moment is:

Renault Koleos - I don't mind.
Kia Sportage - just need to convince myself about the badge
2013 Ford Escape.

Will definatly be looking into these if the Aus version isnt tamed down to much for the Missus.
2L ecoboost with Auto will be perfect around town.

Agree on most counts.
Don't mind the Outlander and you forgot the CX7, both pretty good but don't tick all the boxes...
Again - New Escape can't come soon enough!
Would take market share from all the above...

2013 does seem like a long way away doesn't it Mark, chances are they will miss the boat of a currently busy market sector.

Suits me though, should be able to comfortably afford to upgrade the Mrs car by then, one of these fits the bill a little better than a Territory at this stage, assuming the rear cargo space is atleast as good as out current XLT.

Huh?

Rav4
L- 4625mm
W- 1815mm
H- 1695mm

Xtrail
L- 4635mm
W- 1790mm
H- 1700mm

Outlander
L- 4665mm
W- 1800mm
H- 1720mm

Sportage
L- 4440mm
W- 1855mm
H- 1635mm

RAV 4 is the same basic size as the others, but its pretty ordinary anyway.

AT 6 foot 4 I find it a liitle tight inside the Rav4 - agree physical dimensions are very similar - the Rav seems to lack a little head room.
