If you can, place the positive charger clip onto your batt terminal. Not the wire, that way you KNOW you've got a good connection. Better that way
If you put the positive onto the terminal and the negative onto earth and your charger is plugged in, it will be charging. But it'll take a while. Patience grasshopper lol

What sort of charger do you have? can you set it to fast charge or trickle charge? that alone makes a heck of a difference...

It's an Arlec 12v. There's no settings. BTW can you buy the set up the RACV use: a 9 volt battery plugged into the cigarette lighter?

LOL, just had the RACV out and the battery is a dud! It's just over 12 months old and fortunately under warranty. Thanks all for your help.
BTW memory minders (9 volt battery set up) can be purchased from Repco for $11.50. I bought one for next time :togo: Thanks all for you input. |

To top it off the guy who installed the new battery stuffed up the memory minder and I had to drive to Ford to get the code and reset the radio. Knox Ford here in Melbourne were great, no charge and very helpful.
When I first drove the car after his stuff up the auto-transmission change up was all wrong, sorted itself though as the ECU got it's act together. |
