Incorrect, it wont be available as an option on any FPVs, despite what Motor and Wheels wrongly guessed months ago when the 40th was released (its a 40th Anniversary and Cobra only package).

The development costs would be horrendous and recent history has shown every coupe Ford has delivered in Australia to be a flop. (Mustang and Couger)

Basicly it will not happen......
A sales disaster wow. That was a bit before my time i'll take your word for it.
Though I heard that the monaro was going good it just was'nt going as good as the crewman and with that and the new commadore coming they needed extra space on the lines. Thats what i was told anyway.
As far as bringing back the coupe it would bring alot of attention back to the ford brand. I dont think it needs to have to sell a bucket load. They could use it as a marketing draw card to the brand.
I read that Toyota dont expect to sell many TRD vehicles. but they have had them made to get peoples attention to there brand. (dont know why, arn't they already the market leaders in sales?)

Just read any of the Ford history. Why do you think coupes are so rare? Particularly XC coupes.

http://www.fpv.com.au/theheritage/fa...rahardtop.aspx

My 1978 XC Falcon was a Pine/Lime Sundowner panel van with white interior and 4 speed. The '70s were FUN.

The monaro story? What are you, an undercover "street commodore" spy? You can STILL buy new HSV GTO coupes. There is a very small market for coupes and they just ran out of buyers.

As far as the TRD, they, like HSV and FPV are modified existing models not special unique shells.

Falcon coupes, unfortunately are dead......

far from a spy.... that panelvan sounds quite bright. did it have the matress in the back? :

Yeah true a few ad-ons are alot cheaper than a new shell.
A BF would look so awesome in a coupe though. :sm_drool:
I wonder if anyone has done it themselves. i remember seeing the au in a coupe at a car show. looked really good

The Blue BA Coupe was done by Dreamtech in Melbourne (http://www.trueblueford.com/DreamtechBAcoupe.html) I don't think Troy and Clayton did a BA Coupe, but they did do the BA 'Raptor' gullwing ute with Autotek.

ok i fell i have to comment on this. i know the guy selling this car(in the original link),i work with him -and will most likely be detailing this very vehicle prior to delivery- and i don't think he's too concerned if it doesn't sell. he saw an opportunity to make some money and no-one will be getting hurt by it.

i'm quite sure that if someone offered to buy my au off me for twice it's value i'd seriously consider it. the same thing has happened with the 40th Gt...at the all ford day in kedron recently there was no less than 3 40th's for sale.

we may not agree with his decision, but its his money and his to gamble with.

There is nothing really special about the Cobra, that would warrant a 100% premium over a GT or GT-P. The eBay guy will be stuck with this car.
Not sure how you get a unique build number on Ebay of 50 bucks? Got a link?

R-spec not an option on any FPV other than GT40, Cobra, R-spec F6

While you keep dreaming. for $2.5K over base GT I got r-spec, leather int, limited build number, GT-P wheels, all the unique Cobra gear like striping and badging.

For anyone in Melbournes South/East who wants to see one in the flesh as I did and havent as yet...Theres one in the Coffey Ford Showroom in Dandenong as of last night..I think it looks hot in the flesh and I have no doubt the white wheels suit the car unlike in pics I had seen.
