Ozemail 512/128 ADSL. I went to get cable today but apparently it's not available in my area yet :(

I've upgraded to 1500/256 ADSL which should be connected in the next few days, looks like this is the fastest possible connection I can get for the time being.

PeopleTelecom (aka SwiftDSL)
1500/256 ADSL - Orange NSW

I live about 40-50m away from a shiteload of fibre optic cables running underground to the exchange, dont know if it makes much difference, but I load faster into game servers in the US and Canada than guys over there with cable and better PC specs. Really ****es them off as well

Mirror: Swift
Test type: ADSL

Your connection speed:

kbps: 1220.4
KB/s: 152.55
Mbps: 1.191796875

best one out of about 20, rest were around the 140-145 mark

I usually download at the 160 - 170KB/s mark as well, so this is a little off.

The ADSL test is a 400kb file, while the cable test is more like a 2mb file.

Downloading the bigger file gives a better indication of speed, because its a longer download, giving a more accurate speed indication.

Looks like a hammered 256 or 512 connection, or maybe's it's ISDN?

Deffinately ADSL, but work being tightarses it'd be a 256k connection and it's shared between 2 computers.
