Classic of a film, they used to play it in every dusk to dawn (remember them?) screenings at the drive in (remember them?) along with another classic aussie movie, "puberty blues" ( :( ), the only drama was they would play running on empty last and by the time the 57 was doing the burnouts at the end, the sun was coming up and the screen just would go white.

ahh the good ol days

From memory midnite spares was the one where they filmed a few parts at Parramatta speedway, I remember one of the blokes that my father used to race with was in the movie for about 3 seconds, funny thing is I was thinking about both movies this morning and I come on here and find a thread about it.

" Spotto a Blown 57 Chevy Tudor ". lol
I still watch this movie from time to time but i don't seem to be able to get a copy of Midnite Spares.
Metal Skin is the biggest disappointment of all Australian car movies.

At the risk of making no friends here, I thought the dialog and acting was amazingly bad. But ill have to watch it again for the cars. All Australian films seem to involve at least one Falcon ive noticed, or I just choose the right movies to watch :P.

That's right mate just my opinion. If you have the need to attack people feel free. It's good to see that non judgemental people live in perth. But then again i guess Running on empty is still being shown in the cinema.

Everyone has a right to an opinion but there's no need to be a grumblebum in a thread where everyone is enjoying the movie
