I’m sure ford are worried about the 1000 they will sell of them, when they are sitting on 125,000 orders for bronco.

It will drive even more like a bucket of poo with that heavy hemi sitting over the front end. If there’s one vehicle in the world i can think of that shouldn’t have a v8, it’s a wrangler. More power is the last thing it needs, because it’s so dynamically garbage.

Be pretty quick in a straight line though. Just pray the roads don’t have corners.

Looks are indeed subjective, but there's also 'standards of beauty' that get compared to and my opinion is the Bronco misses the mark, but it obviously capitalises on nostalgia for the 1960s Bronco and is targeted solely for the North American market, I also think that the 1960s Bronco is ugly - but I actually quite like the 1980s Bronco and also the new Suzuki Jimny as well which has similar styling cues.

Jaguar E type is another car that people put up as meeting those 'standards of beauty' I referred to in the previous sentence, or the Ferrari Dino 246 GT - I think they both look like a hat full of assholes as well.

The AU keeps getting brought up because that ridiculous design language was forced on Ford Australia with its ovals everywhere theme, its a very polarising car, you either love it or hate it.

The Bronco and the AU Falcon are both a greater symptom of Ford claiming its interested in global markets, but it considers 'global' to be North America and assumes we all have the same tastes.

Referring to cars as ugly as a hat full is taste, or the looks is subjective case. Nothing to do with this 'standards of beauty'

You refer to the E type and Dino. Saying I (as in you) think they are ugly.
Not everyone thinks the same so clearly it's not a standard.

Regardless if these came to aus, it might get me into a new ford. But I'd dare say if they did they'd be proper expensive

The OP asked if it would sell well in Australia - and I put my opinion forward that it's ugly and compared it to the AU Falcon which in the context of Australia sold half as much as the VT Commodore even though the AU was by far the superior product, it was considered ugly by the Australian public at the time even though it's probably one of the best Falcons to come out of Broadmeadows.

The AU shares the same design language as the Ford Taurus which was very popular with the US target market but it completely flopped here, again because it was ugly.

Then I referenced standards of beauty, it doesn't fit within those terms nor does it fit within Ford's current design language - it looks like it was designed with a 15cm ruler and a crayon.

It's a product that's specifically designed to be a retro throwback to the 1960s Ford Bronco to capitalise nostalgia for an old product within the North American market, it's basically Ford's equivalent of the Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Long story short in my one sentence first post I've hinted at 'no, it wouldn't sell well in Australia' then elaborated further why I think so when poked.

Nothing stopping you from buying it in LHD and getting it converted and complied through a second stage manufacturer.

Ford surveys have shown that about 30-40% of bronco buyers are either current jeep owners, or were going to buy another jeep if bronco wasn’t available. I’m not sure on the exact number. Trying to find the article.

But it’s stealing significant numbers from jeep, as well as expanding the pie.

Their is a qld mob going to import them and convert them to RHD if and when they can get them due to the chip issues in the USA
