In my time in the NSW RFS I have attended quite a few accidents. Many of them involving trees.
It is not just young people like the poor souls lost in this accident that can lose control whether at excessive speed or at the speed limit. I can remember 1 accident where a father killed one of his sons and put the other into hospital after loosing control and hitting an immovable object( bloody big gum tree). I knoiw the reasons for the above accident happening and i wont go into it here just to say it WAS NOT speeding that caused it. Thats my 2c worth on the subject.

Interesting footage.... cant see any skid marks on the road? nor much in the way of tyre tracks in the ground? Was it in the right hand lane and then lost control on a straight section of road?

Accidents/incidents/crashes or whatever we term them now are so damned violent and so bloody final.
Regardless of the circumstances, there are a lot of unhappy people down there right now and three young lives have been lost. It's become too easy to trivialise happenings like this since the world has become so "connected". |

Next time any of you are doing 50, watch a powerpole as you pass it, imagine hitting it at that speed. Then imagine you are in a 15 year old car and that pole is coming in your door. Don't have to be going overly fast to be badly injured. Having said that, I know nothing about the conditions of this particular crash. |

condolences to the family's involved, there is something to be said for driving a late model car with the safety features, specially for the younger inexperienced folk, you could put money on it these youngsters would probably not been out of control in the first place, and with the extra side impact and roof strength some may have survived.

We should remember how fragile human life is and how easy it can be taken,
we go out for a drive just assuming we are coming home again safe and sound. On average each day, 93 people are involved in serious crashes 89 are hospitalised, 4 are dead. |

Not wanting to stir up cr@p but....
there has to be a point were the bleeding hearts of this world stop with the oh poor them cr@p and look at what has happened... There are kids killing themselves and others due to spupid behaviour on the roads. Saying oh you cant say that cos we dont have the facts is a cop out. Look at what has happened at the same site by so called friends of those that died and we see concrete proof that these idiots have not learned anything and more than likely never will.. The police should be given MORE power to sieze and impound these cars...first stop any commo / falcon with nice chromies on the front and stockies on the rear..burnout spec knobheads |

I think kids and young drivers needs to realise that its not killing themselves that is so much the problem, its the people in the other car, on the footpath etc that they are going to potentially kill. Kids are fearless, and dont care about killing themselves. We need to put emphasis on the fact that its not about them, its about everyone else.

When these idiots decide to fool around on public roads i think that they should have their car taken and their right to EVER drive on the roads taken away. Might sound harsh but its a lot less harsh then getting a knock on the day at 3 am from the police to tell you that your kids been killed while being a tool in a car.... end rant |

Well after reading the other thread in which idiots did burn outs at the site of the fatality, I daresay any sort of sympathy is now out the window.
Its quite sad to see how incredibly stupid these kids are... 3 people got killed on that spot and they do burnouts on the spot????

heard the bang from my place. dropped power out too. went for a look, not real pretty but bulban rd ge lots of so called hoon drivers on it. there is now rubber all over the road from his mates showing "respect" for what i consider excessive speed coupled with poor driving skills. pity the cops didnt catch and book the respect driver. Seems a lot of people in wezza either knew or had a friend that knew them. condolances to the families involved. it wont stop anyone else from driving in the manner in which this car was driven tho...... (as showed by respect driver) at that age, they are all bulletproof....... maybe the powerpole should have been made out of bullets ??

After looking at the footage from the ABC, I have to ask, what the hell is up with the design of that road!!! Before anyone suggests that it is fine at moderate speeds and if they were only doing moderate speeds then they would still be here today, don't you think that they have designed a slalom course instead of a safety feature???
