I think the price was about $17,000 you can take any EA-BF Falcon/Fairlane donor car to a coachbuilder in Geelong (I think) that make them into coupes. I suppose any coachbuilder could do it; looks wild, and not that dear really!
If someone knows what they're talking about feel free to correct the place and price of the coachbuilders who do plenty of work for Ford (though not actually affiliated). I must say, whilst it would predominantly blend into the traffic, once noticed it certainly is a very nice looking machine!
Hillier charge $34,000 for the conversion - this was directly quoted as I was comparing a XB coupe full restoro and buying a AUII XR8 and converting it. brought the XB instead due to cost. Probably better off waiting for someone to have one for sale thats already been done.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why I'm glad Ford never answered the Monaro. Still, for an aftermarket conversion it's pretty impressive, but it's not exactly gorgeous.

That was the 2nd coupe the Hillier brothers did, and was made for one of the Hilliers Conversions employees (don't recall his name...). The first one, which was green, was 'borrowed' then turned into the supercharged coupe by Sprintex/Midland. The third one was the Arrow.

The Hilliers are in Tenterfield, NSW - not Geelong.

There is/was also this green one. It has an XR front, but not sure if it's a Forte converted to XR or not. I like the look of the AU Coupe. The Arrow Coupe was waaay over the top in looks..yuck. Wouldn't mind it's driveline though.

This would be my ultimate AU! Being a Coupe is a added bonus. I declare this the King of all AU's.

No difference except for factory Tickford bodykit and no rear spoiler. Done by the same guys (note sticker on rear windscreen. For those with bad eyesight, it says Hillier Conversions).

As I mentioned above, these two cars are one and the same - before and after photos if you like.

Sprintex put the 300+ into limited production apparently... slightly different BA GT style bodykit, supercharged 4.6...

Both sedan and coupe, if i remember correctly, the sedan was just over $100k and the coupe was around $130k...

Ford decided not to back the project, as the BA was due to be released soon. Its a shame, as I reckon they are the best looking AU's

Sorry about the small pics, its all i could find.

The RED XR8 Coupe has the numberplate AUK∙00P. I've seen it before.

But, i'd rather one of these...

Nice!!

Out of the coupes listed so far I prefer the 300+. But they have nothing on the old X series Coupes.

i think that red coupe would look ok without the wing, maybe a wing similar to the hsv coupe ( saw one today, looked sweeeeet ), and a ts50 or XR50 hybrid front bar.. the race bars just look stupid on a road car!

Even if you dont like it, you have to give it up for the work that went into it hey?!

Yeah, the BA is essentially just extended front doors, with the rears welded up. There's no change to the profile of the roof nor the rear side glass.

Well i spotted it again the other day parked, was going to go get some better photos but was running late for work. I saw it pulling in to the parking lot, definatly had a hilliers sticker on the front i believe, so i suppose this proves it is the hilliers coupe. It definatly stands out.

(off topic, im sure i had 450 posts but now it says i only have 402, whats with that!!)
