Like a lot of peoples political persuasion I suppose , I grew up in a Ford household . I also grew up in an era where the DFV totally dominated Formula One , Ford won 4 consecutive Le Mans , the BDA was released , Ford totally dominated sports cars with both the GT40 and AC Cobra , Escorts totally dominated world rallying , Ford dominated Formula 2 and Formula 3 etc etc etc etc etc . If Ford gave up all motor racing tomorrow GM would NEVER ever have a hope in hell of catching up and achieving what Ford have . Also the fact that Ford never hid behind the apron strings of " Dealer teams " .

I was brought up in a staunch holden family. Dad always bought a kingswood then commodore. I was first to buy a ford in my home.
I went back to an ss commodore vs and then vt2 for a few years. But then I bought a few e series fords and ba's, and I honestly think fords are put together better. Ive owned 4 windsor V8s since, 3 I6 fords, (including a xr6t) and now a boss v8. I never planned to be a ford man. My dream garage is a new fg gt335 and parked next to it a fg f6. My garage is filled with ford parts and spare rims etc. My old man took one of the e series off me and agreed it was better than his commodore and he kept it. |

Old man had a shitter of a hq when I was a kid and traded it in on a brand new orange xd wagon. I thought it was the coolest car ever.
I love fords, I like holdens, but I hate commodores with a passion. |

grew up a holden kid in a holden house in a holden family.... around 17yo was in the backseat of a manual XA GT coupe when it dropped the mother of all skids..... i need me some of that........

OK I too was brought home in a Falcon, new from the hospital that is, and then learnt to drive in an XW which "survived" 5 children learning to drive as well. What other car could possibly survive two sisters on L/P plates, lol. |

Good taste, people say but they sell more commodores, i just look and say yep and mcdonalds sell alot of hamburgers, doesnt make it a good hamburger. I think they drive better, they definatelty drive different to a holden and .........oh yeah im not a bogan.

It's hardly surprising the answers here... So why follow in the foot steps of our fathers, why say we have blue blood running through our veins, is it really a tradition?
Call me cynical, but owning a Ford because my old man did isn't a good reason. I currently own a Ford because my options were very limited by the tax man and Holden didn't quite have what I wanted. Yes, I used my head not my heart. If I followed my old man I'd be driving a Holden, hang on...or a datsun, Mazda, BMW maybe even a Suzuki....I'd hate to pidgeon hole myself

I'm not a "Ford" man, but there are Fords I do appreciate. Otherwise I wouldn't be on this forum.
I still prefer Commodores to Falcons, but really both of them have their pros and cons. If Holden went under tomorrow I'd be in a Ford in a heart beat. |

It's good to see that some people have actually been swayed across from Holden to Ford by their experiences and thought's in owning one of each, to me these kind of people are not biased and are the kind of people a company like Ford is targeting.
I mean we all know there are those that will only buy a Ford product no matter what, it is all they know and all they want to know, which is also fair enough but it is very pleasing to see a non biased consumer actually comparing the two and choosing the Ford branded product and there being quite a few in doing so. I believe this is a strong market that Ford need's to set their goals on as these people will be happy with their purchase and go back in future, as the saying ring's, stick with what you know. |

I was born into a Ford family, I guess thats really the reason I have Fords. I love Inline 6's and I love E series boxcars. While I appreciate all makes and models ill only ever drive a Ford product. Im all about brand loyalty to the extent that yes, I have a Ford emblem across my back.
I just love Fords, simple.

I am not one eyed about Ford but they have made some good model combinations and they had more reliable diff and gear box's compared with some of the rubbish that holden have pushed in the 60's to the 80's.

Ive loved Ford since I care to remember. Ive driven many other car brands in my life & I just dont feel normal or at home unless im in a Ford. The look, the feel. Its like what some people talk about with the bond between man and his machine. My blood runs blue, and that is never going to change.

Dad brought home a BA XR6t as a work car, when he used to work for ford and our whole family loved it! My first 3 cars were all holdens (2 of them commodores) but when it came time to upgrade I couldn't look past the falcon! Holdens comparable car was far from comparable in my eyes so the ford it was!
 Although I like to not discriminate, I still laugh at some of the commodores I see around sitting on bump stops, with a massive TAPOUT or NO FEAR sticker on the back window lol! |

Brought up on Fords as a kid, brother had a original XB GT coupe yellow and black, so naturally my first car on P's was a XA coupe red pepper. It had a 6 originally a 6 that was soon replaced with a 351clevo. Have had fords ever since, the only one I regret buying was a EA dam that thing was a lemon.
How ever stuck with the brand and will keep buying Fords as long as they are made. Blue blood to the end lol

dad had ford's and holdens when i was younger. a black xb coupe and an xb ute, but also had a vc commo for mum. i grew up whatching bathurst with him and alway's going for peter perfect. when that ended that was it i went for ford and have never looked back. my neighbour used to have an xy gt copy that i would always wish that i owned. the young hoons round town had nice ed sprints. anyway's dad wasn't really one branded but once marcus ambrose came to the lime light fords have been my passion.

Because there is one sitting in the driveway, and another in the shed...
Family had a TC Cortina when I was a kid, then Dad replaced it with an XE Falcon. My first car was a TE Gemini, but then when I had a proper job, I bought the EL. Had it every since, the last 12 years. The old man's XE is the one in the shed. Inherited it when he passed away. Three more years and we can get classic rego for it!
