I could, however, bring in the back half of a Commodore and use a local Pontiac G8 and make that street legal rather easily, but its not the Falcon. So the plan is for a 2004-2006 Boss. I missed one that was a Statutory write off in NSW, can only assume fresh water damaged but it was clean.

I know to find the one I want I have to get to Oz and look around. I think I have seen every one on Gumtree, Ebay Australia, Trovit etc.

I know the bloke who sold me his XF thought I was insane until the shipper contacted him. It will cost $4250 to get an BA in.

i think you are insane too, a wonderful kind of insane

Oh Yes, RHD not an issue. The XF will be registered as an Antique as its over 25 years old in my state. Kind of like Club Rego I recon. No annual safety inspection and you can only drive so many miles a year, and not at night.

The XB I have is actually a late production XB, and it already has an XC nose on it, so I am keeping it with the XC look. It has a 302C with a Single Rail Borg Warner 4 Speed on the floor. I checked the numbers and the drive line is out of an XC Sedan.

I know a few blokes in Washington State, Bonney Lake around Seattle, that have a few XB GT Coupes and on XC Cobra.

To change them would be a sin, unless its an G8 Commodore!

Yeah I agree.

Have owned the same AU2 for the past 12 years and at just over 250,000k she has been a pleasure to not only drive but work on. Only had to maintain her as you would any other car and only had to replace driveshaft uni joints and a powersteer line upto now. We have decided to keep her as long as we can and today she got her pink slip for another year.

Prior to rego this year (we had already decided to give her the once over) we changed a few things and I have to say, the local mechanic was in shock and had never seen an AU quite like her.

We replaced the following with brand new parts

Brakes - Calipers (remanufactured oem), slotted discs and brembo pads = $890
Suspension - F/R king springs, dampers and a few bushes = $650
Coil pack, leads, plugs. Cant remember the price, was about $150
Starter motor, alternator, battery = $350
Auto trans flush and filter and rear seal = $ 110
4 seat belts = $ 300
Tiger headers, redback highflow catback exhaust = $720
Also did all the other fluids.

There was a few other things, but cant remember all the nitty grittys right now. Anyway, just over 3 grand for a new FALCON.

Cant beat that.

G'day Ken and all , I love the XB/XC too..
Our local Caltex owner has the following ..1973 Lincoln Continental (pristine) with a 460 , a 1965 Ford Galaxie with a 390 well on the way to pristine , AND a 1974 XB GT that was a feature car at the Tasmanian National Auto Museum for several months with the mighty 351 ..It's gorgeous..Oh yes and he also has a 1970 Ford Truck , I think it's an F350..and a Jeep Grand Cherokee as well..I suppose you've seen this but if you haven't it's worth a look http://www.falcongt.net/index.php?op...tion&fileid=18 .. I have a AUll 2001 4.0 Futura and a 2008 FG XR6 Mk 1 with the DOHC Barra and the ZF 6 speed.. Both silver and love them both...
Cheers Rod.

Technical Contributor: For members who share their technical expertise. - Issue reason: The experience, information and willingness to help and share data in regards to the ZF cooling system options has probably cleared a lot of doubt about air/oil coolers and the ZF transmission.
