Well we made it home, and Im stuffed!
4400km travelled
6 days of theme parks
1 day at Aust Zoo
1 day wandering around on the Coast / Pacific Fair
1 day at DJR and Kingston Park Karts

Drove through a great dust storm on the Hay Plain this arvo, bit of a contrast to the nice lush green area we left on sat morning.

how were the karts. very interested in giving them a go next time i'm up that way. are they worth the cost?

Karts were ok, although the large 'Lemans' track was unavailable due to a large group using it for a challenge.
We had the 'Monte Carlo' track which was alright even though you only had to brake for one corner. All drivers get a print out with lap times, average speed etc.
I guess it was worth the money, it just ads up when you hire 7 karts!!

From my experience, Kingston Park is a softer karting experience. Archerfield Speed Karts is were I would spend my money. Archerfield use 2 stroke karts too, not 4 stroke like Kingston. Pricing is pretty much line ball.

where did the family end up staying, what hotel? how was that?

yeah, taking a family up there costs $$$, its so commercial nowadays

Agree about Kingston park..very soft.
"Karting in Paradise" at Stapylton is my pick. Awesome track and quick karts. they have some 30hp "super" karts that you have to qualify for. You can actually corner fast enough to get bad bruising around the ribs!
Stone brothers drivers hold all the best lap times/ records. (Yes Ambrose still has the best time!)

Ah well there ya go. Never heard of those karts, but they have gotta be good if the V8 drivers go there. I wouldn't image they would have too much fun at Kingston Park or Archerfield then....

Shame it closed in Feb because of the redevelopment thats going on at Darlington Park, still looking for land as well, i need my kart fix lol, nothing else compares to Karting in Paradise

After looking at hotels and caravan park villas etc we decided to rent a house. We got a 2 storey, 6 bedroom house that sleeps 14 people in Oxenford. Magnificent house with a huge plasma, 3 other tv's, Austar and a pool too. 2 minutes drive to Movie World and Wet N Wild, 4 minutes to Dreamworld and White Water World. Perfect!
