I voted no, cars like that shouldn't be molested unless they can be easily put back to original form.

In the end it's all about originality and perception.

I was at the Adelaide drags on the weekend and there was a Kingswood with a Ford engine, go figure !
There was also a Pro Street Capri that flipped up vertical on take-off, awesome !!

Nothing wrong with the hemi in their IMO, of course it's over the top (and blasphemous) but what isn't in the elite hall these days? The Hadfield twin blown Boss 429 beast is insane as well (IMO the blowers side by side looks better) but I think Gary built this Stang as a personal dream, not necessarily to impress the punters. Good on him. Sure I would've preferred that he put in Boss 429 or Cammer, but I wasn't the one building the car.

Yeah, I got a few. I still have to resize them though.
I'll post a few maybe later on tonight.

I have to appreciate the work involved in putting it together but putting a non ford engine in there is not something I'm overly impressed with.

Whats next a rotary powered stang ???

Still it looks damn tough either way.

my mind was made up for me when I saw it in the flesh, it is an awesome car, and there was a hell of a lot of work gone into it...

his black one is better.

a lot of cars you see look good from a distance but up close the details are rough. the tower of terror mustang is the other way around - photos dont do it justice. the details are the impressive part.

You should see the piece of shit that he started with. it wasn't exactly restorable, and they're not exactly a rare car in the USA.....

My mistake. So it would seem that Dave Ritchie won because he built a CAR that he could DRIVE... crazy!

Temper, temper! ;)

I completely appreciate the workmanship on the car, as I'm sure everyone else does - that's in no dispute here.

I just think that the concept of shoving such a preposterous engine (Ford or GM - I don't care) into a showcar like that is a tipping the see-saw onto the ridiculous side of silly. And it doesn't float my boat. Looks like most agree with me - yippee!! :nutsycuck

Just to clear this up,, House of Kolor is actually a brand of paint,, not a panel or paint shop, It was actually painted at East Wagga smash repairs

I realised that after I posted it was meant to say "in House of Kolor, by one of the best paint shops in Australia"
Point is the paint looks great, the finish anyway, the style may not be everyones cup of tea, but it is eye catching

The story I heard was that its being shown for 18mths or so and then he's gonna compete in it.

Has anyone else heard this ???

You'd think he'd be too scared to damage the car.

As far as one of the blowers being gutted it was suggested to me one of them was empty and the other was a 6/71 in an 8/71 case. I know half of that is now true, so I was interested to see if the other half was true.

Regarding freedom of expression, I choose to use my freedom of opinion to say I don't like it. Fair enough there's a lot of work gone into it, it just does nothing for me. To me it looks like he used the base of the first muzzy and applied 'instant rice' to it. If you like it, thats fine. Thats why we don't all drive around in white camry's... because we all have different tastes.
I read in a magazine last year, that had a big write up on this mustang getting built. The 2 blowers are 6/71 and 8/71. The 8/71 is on top feeding the 6/71. the oposite way that I thought they would have done it.
8/71 and 6/71 have the same rotors inside , just the 6/71's are shorter. you couldnt put 6/71 in 8/71 case unless you cut the case down to suit the 6/71 rotors, lot of work, waste of time, probally wouldn't work.
I like the engineering in this stang, but think its too over the top.

"I've got too much money so I'm gonna build a SHOWCAR and win lots of trophies" Magazine

FFS

That thing is a great work of art... but it aint no Street Machine

I think that is a wrong call about having too much money. He has sponsers for that sort of thing.

Is it over the top to everyone because of the twin blowers, or other things as well? Because if you took the top blower off, it would still be the same top quality car...

After seeing this thing in the flesh and seeing Gary himself give it a boot full in the go-whoa. i can say that this thing aint just a show pony.
it sounds awsome, looks awsome and is something that hasnt been done before.

who cares if its a HEMI, the double blowers look good as the engine looks alot wider with the rocker covers poking through the bonnet, and in a way evens the blowers out with abit more width.

i think if people see the car being driven their attitudes may change

it's friggin awesome, it's a showcar but it's also driveable. Sure it's over the top but who cares, it's an inspiration for many others.

Nah, not quite my cup of tea/coffee etc etc, I can appreciate what works gone into it. Just not something I would have done.

Won't comment I what I would have done, but I definetly was disapointed that he put a hemi motor in it.

I just believe in keeping brands with brands. But only my opinion.
