I'm thinking that the key reader is different.
Series 1 has four wire key reader and series 1.5 has a 5 wire key reader. Between the car and the dash, I pretty sure they are the same Cheers

where is the key reader..?
Will that be something that I am changing... I'm basically putting in the whole TS50 dash and associated looms.. Including the Complete TS50 Steering coloumn and loom..

If your changing the column, your changing they key reader.
Cheers PS. For those of you playing at home, it is the plastic device that is around the ignition barrel (separate to the barrel)

Thanks to everyone for the info and tips.. It's greatly appreciated guys..!! Its all working, no probs with Smartshield at all... Everything plugged in and is operating perfectly..!! Here's how she's sitting at the moment.. still a bit to do but the main thing is.. Everything works..!!!! Also, here's a vid of the ESS engaging.. Thanks again guys..!!

hahaha.. It was open..!!!
Ok, one more question.. It seems now my indicators don't flash... they just stay on when turning...? It seems intermittant though.. sometimes they'll flash, sometimes they will just hold the light on until turned off..? Any ideas on what's going on there...?? Cheers Kris

check your relay in the fuse box as it might be getting stuck... i had this problem after i changed the relay it worked fine

Yeah just did a bit of searching (should have done that first..lol) and I'll change the flasher relay with my original one.. should fix it...

Hi mate I was just looking at your post I have a series 1.5 ute and I have just put in a series 2 ghia dash with the heater box and climate control basically the same as you did you change all the engine bay wiring as well and did it start and work for you I am getting a bir perplexed abour all of this another fellow was saying I had to change all the engine bay wiring as well I am spinning lol could you let me know how you went ... Thanks mate regards steve
