but what worries me is another model in the line up that just robs sales from themselves.. A super flash FPV terri is only going to appeal to existing TT and FPV customers.. The X5 etc are bought for the badge, something that Ford (no matter how good of a car it may be) will never have at their disposal..

It will sell, and be a cash cow for FPV. Everything Terry related has been going incredibly well for Ford.

The FPV Territory is 'Field of Dreams-esque' "Build it and they will come"

captiva... :togo: if they do that i will go & get a jumbuck in protest. Dont forget they tested the water with the avalanche. I would say a fpv terri would be limited numbers as well. like most have pointed out $80k isnt in reach for every one.

The only thing that Captiva has over Territory is that they offer a Turbo Diesel model, and that's about it. But then again, Ford have the Turbo Petrol one...

Don't be so sure about 'far better build,' because you'll be very surprised. My aunty's two X5's (a 2005 3.0i and 2003 4.4i) haven't exactly lit the world on fire with their awesome build quality, especially considering what they cost new...

Plenty. The comment had to do with Ford v BMW build quality, not what cars I like. :

$80,000 for a tezza with it's well documented poor build quality.....................oh dear

Surely they couldnt ask more than $70,000. On a side note do ford service treat you any better when you get an fpv serviced as opposed to a std falcon???

My Ford service seem to treat me much better since I bought a FPV.
They have not used the "normal" tag with any problem ...yet.
It does seem like a step above in normal Ford service, but it is still several behind Toyota or Honda of which I have also experienced with my other fleet cars.

P.S I have had no build problems with the F6 or TTG, but I did with the BA XR6T

Good to hear they treat you with a little more respect. The service would be a majour facter in stopping me from a premium fpv or hsv offering as my experience in dealing with other service from subaru ,volvo ect is vastly different.

I had an incident with Ford Service last week with an issue regarding the Territory. The left rear shock is leaking oil so I thought I'd bring it to the attention of the service department prior to the 15,000km service. I asked if both rear shock absorbers could be replaced as they wear at an equal rate. I was abrubtly told no, Ford wont do this, anyway it's not necessary. Well bugger me, you dont replace one brake pad when doing a pad change, so I expected both shocks to be replaced.

A quick word to the salesman who I deal with quickly had the situation resolved - 2 new rear shocks and a loan car for the day for the inconvenience.

I had a similar problem with a 2002 Magna I had, Mitsubishi replaced both shocks as a matter of safety, no agro, no excuses.

Because they are a well designed car that suits a hell of a lot of people and family's. Most people dont care about quality as long as it comes with a warranty.
